Journey in to Neocron
I played Neocron when I was younger and I remember enjoying it quite thoroughly. I plan to go back, and document my journey in this thread so that others get an idea of whether or not this game is worth the hassle to get it downloaded/installed/ maybe even payed for.
I will be answering questions to the best of my ability as I continue on and documenting anything that stirs my emotions one way or the other. Check back over the next coming days to see what I have to say if you are looking for another MMO to maybe get into... because I am- and I know I'm probably not alone.

-From Florida/USA this gave the fastest and only acceptable download speed aside from file planet at an avg of 401kbs

After reading up they disallowed the use of paypal, and do not accept any other methods of payment... I am not ordering ultimate gamer cards from amazon to buy the full game and hope they have done well with the game while hindering any new customers...
The click2pay issue started in 04 and never fixed it... and they are in hot water, rated terribly by many people claiming scams...
Sorry guys- I was real gungho about this... I will be sending their helpdesk an e-mail, but from what I am reading I doubt anything will be done...

If you can dig up your old account and password you can log on right now. They royally screwed up their payment service so now all old NC2 accounts (2 years and older) can be played with no monthly fee. If you only played Neocron but not NC2+ you may not have any characters, I don't know, at some point you had to transfer chars over to NC2 yourself. To save you a lot of time and hassle I'll tell you now, Neocron is not worth playing. Sometime a few years after the big 2.1 update the game took a nose dive and now there is a very small two digit community. Most everyone is highlevel and any new comers don't stay long after they can't deal with the long, slow, grind all alone and with little help. What is left? high rank non LE players roaming around that will gank or pvp with anyone they come across with no reason or reward. Still, its fun to reminisce the old days like with other mmorpgs, but again like others it has decayed with detrimental change and old age to support any new players today.
My view is really biased but I have and will always live the game, its mechanics, immersive environment, open world, and attention to all the detailed scifi things in the world. On the other hand the company that ran it constantly added a few good things then would butcher them a few months later. They had no idea how to run and maintain a mmo and I can never forget back when I won some contests and was promised rewards but got nothing.
