Yikes, I'm reading more complaints about entering a credit card than talk about the actual game. Is this game any good? From the video previews I've seen on IGN, it looks exactly like City of Heroes except you're wearing black leather and you know Kung-Fu. (and many more martial arts and guns of course).
How are the enemies and NPCs? The beauty of a fantasy MMORPG is you will have hundreds of different exotic creatures to kill. When you play a Scifi, you are more limited, but when you look at The Matrix, I just can't keep on wondering what will I actually end up killing for XP over and over again?
Is it just humans? Is it just agents? Is it just robots? What else? It's not like I will start seeing tigers or bear creatures walking around the city to kill for XP.
Also do you have total freedom for character customization? Or it's extremely expensive and you won't be able to wear your first pair of l33t black sunglasses until 3-4 months of gameplay?

unfortunately there is a Non Disclosure Agreement still in effect, Therefore I am not allowed to answer your questions. I can say that this game isn't like CoH, the only similarity is the city setting.
Once the NDA is lifted you will be pleased with the game.
All I can say is bondarczar is a retard :P
I take that as a compliment
LOL, was just pointing out that everyone has their different niche, saying that a person will be pleased with the game is a bit ignorant. That is all.
bondarczar the retarded
"What is it I have against Microsoft, you ask? Well, you know how you feel when you wait for an MMO to come out and when it does you feel like you've paid to play it's beta test for another 6-9 months before anything even thinks of working the way it should? Being a network engineer you feel that way about anything Microsoft puts out."
MxO suxx, (for now). At most whit hte idea that you have to give them you;re creditcard number in beta registration. This is so low and stupid. I didn't sign for beta to give them the freaking card, i want to test it no to buy it, not yet. Shesh.
^^atleast learn how to type your idiotic thought
yeah, like thats a valid reason why it sucks *sighs at idiots* first, they dont charge it (and if they do, what is 10 cents nowadays?) second, millions of people use there credit card online... its pretty much the norm now. were almost to 2005 people, get OVER IT. CREDIT CARD + ONLINE = NORMAL. you idiots are acting like the internet just came out and everyone is parniod to use there credit card. get with the times.
god...
edit - btw, the game is good. it has its flaws that need to be iron'd out, but it will compete with WoW, EQ2, etc..
I enjoy undercutting people in the market place - it's the only PvP a crafter gets.
i've enjoyed the little i've played.
I keep hearing all this bitching and moaning about the credit card needed for beta sign up. Now...either people just don't read or the common IQ is nearing the negatives. It was fully explained that it's there for age verifcation. I have YET to receive a charge to my card.
And I agree. The game has some kinks that need tweaking, which is exactly why they moved the release back. I think they've got a great base to the game and it has a lot of potential. Once the NDA ( if ever ) is lifted I will gladly do a full, in depth guide and review.

Hi,
i play MxO now for 2 weeks and i must say this game has some huge potential.
and i must say that the Mxo team is very accurate and quick.
when posting an topic about a bug or so within the 48 h ours you have anwers and motsly solved.
which points that the the team behind it is very professional.
The game is really like an extension fo the films.
For now i will try out the clan option
Yes, the dev team is very proactive and addresses issues quickly. They also work with players to actually solve the bugs instead of just letting them go by the wayside. There have been plenty of occassions after I reported a bug in which they asked me to approach it from another angle and report my findings. So I would do so and they'd would ask me to try something else... all in effort to gather information to combat the bugs which have since been solved.
And, yes, it is an extension to the films. Check out the latest CGW... great article with plenty of hints at the upcoming storyline (which all takes place directly after the third movie).

I would like it if it wouldnt be for constant rubberbanding and crashing...
MxO has 0% chance of success. I wont even log in to beta because the game doesnt even deserve to be beta tested. They should scrap it and save any further financial losses.
Make a difference!
hmmmm...SHUT UP!
if you dont like the game doesnt mean everyone else wont like the game
yes, the game has lots of bugs and lag and many other things what makes it look horrible, but beneath all of that crap, it's simple mmorpg like any other
^ Quoted for emphasis.
MxO is a big ole accident waiting to happen.
How narrow minded and negative. And it's your loss. Almost sounds like you might have some kind of personal bias against the game, though?
And if Neocron can succeed, ANYTHING can.

no one knows. they dont know your identy. just tell us, I am interested to know.
Which FF Character Are You?
Ah, actually, remember all that fuss about having to give out a CC to get into beta? that was so they WOUL know who the testers were. It wouldn't be too hard to match up their info with info and IPs gotten from this site.
So I doubt any of us will be breaking the NDA any time soon, sorry.

ummmm.......

If you honestly think they would prosecute for NDA breach on a forum, you're a doofus. It wouldn't likely hold up in court, the PR would be bad, the cost of the trial would be worthless. They'd never do it.
I and others know this and we don't break NDA because it's unethical. It's not because were afraid to be prosecuted.
For the moron who says MXO has 0% chance of success, I really don't know what drugs you're doing. I know that in comparison to other games it totally beats the livign shit out of them, that doesn't mean MXO is a perfect MMO but for what garbage mediocrity you guys accept in games both aesthetically and mechanically its not any surprise some retard would say somehing like this in regards to MXO.
Oh come on man, you've been around here long wnough to know better than that. You HAVE read te forums around here right? Cause I've seen people get busted for breaking NDA on various betas in this site's forums. And no beta testor is going to want to take the chance of losing their account.
-----------------------------------------
ummmm.......
-----------------------------------------
They get busted and banned from this forum or otherwise reprimanded, if they do it on the official boards they can be removed from Beta. But Walrus can be quoted himself as saying they are lenient with NDA enforcement. But in court? No. Doesn't happen. Still, regardless I don't break the NDA
It seems with every game someone says that it has 0% chance of success. Why someone slams a
game in this manner without having even played it is beyond me. When it comes to the Matrix Online
I just chalk it up as someone that either got sick of all the movie hype or they hated Enter the Matrix
(which was completely different).
The Matrix Online has a ton of potential. By definition, the Matrix is a virtual world so anything that
happens in the Online game completely jives. For instance, if a wookie suddenly appears out of thin
air at a starport in SWG we're just supposed to accept that. In the Matrix, if someone suddenly
appears next to a phone, well, that's really the Matrix. So a lot of the immersion is already built in.
From all the reading I've done the storyline (just pick up the January CGW) and combat is going to
be intense. The screens look pretty hot as well.
All i can say is....this game has ALOT of potential. I am very suprised and happy with it.
check out the movie they have up on their homepage, that should give u an idea of what its like in game.
