Justifying preording.

I like the features list of Mortal online. The graphics look good.  There is very little game info about if it is any good.  The videos seem very basic.  Considering this is an indie company, the 200 person server catastrophy. How can you justify pre ordering?   If the beta has started and someone wants to message me a beta leak video or review please do.   Or are most people like giving a 50 dollar donation for a hope that the game is good?

It's no different then buying a game that just was release based of info you read, video and screenshots your seen.

    I know I wasted 60 bucks on a game I hated... Pre-ordering isn't much different

I think its very different. Its your responsibility as a consumer to find out as much information as you possably can about a product before purchasing a virtual ticket basically for a game that isnt released or even complete yet. You arent just buying a game now you are making an investment in hope that the game will be good and be released with your expectations met and game finished. so yes its very different.

If I was working full time maybe i can see the 50 dollars as just a small investment that may turn out big  in rewards.  But when money is scares I dont see enough information to make an informed choice to pre order or not.

Then you really have no choice to make, you'll be waiting until it goes live before purchasing it. (same choice I'm making, but not because of the cost)

Actually tbox if you don't have a steady income maybe you shouldn't even consider ANY MMORPG's. The last thing someone with a variable income needs is to have to pay for broadband and a monthly subscription charge.

Things like housing and food should take precedence. If a game is good it will still be around when things settle out for you.
