Just wondering what your plans are, I'll probably wait for them to fix all the launch bugs before I give it a try.

I'll probably start at release, but since the NDA is not dropped yet and I've not been in BETA it's a bit too early to say for sure.

I'll be in this one at release. With their skill based advancement system that is kind of like Asheron's Call's and the crafting system they talk about, all I want is a fairly bug-free game that is a good foundation to build upon. That they're introducing housing post launch (they talk about it in a definite manner so I have no reason to doubt they will) is a huge bonus for me. That my wife and 2 of my best friends (and most probably their wives too) will be playing just makes it that better.

I would probably play at release IF the game actually runs at more than 10 fps on current PC hardware. I don't believe that anyone should need a next gen quad core, 2 x next gen graphics cards and 6gb of tomorrow's memory to run an MMORPG with yesterday's graphics quality.

You just need that to run Vista properly though.

    At release.

There are lag in towns on server side no matter how powerful computer you have yourself, but that has been improved the latest weeks. Fallen Earth is running well on my old computer and Icarus have avoided the pitfall of  too little content. There are tons of it.

Icarus is focusing  currently on improving performance and squashing the most common and irritating bugs. It is still beta so you are bound to see bugs but those left are minor compared to the ones eliminated last week and it was playable even then.

The unknown question is how big population the servers can handle. I don´t think CCP could predict Jita to become so big and laggish in EvE online. Will there be a "Jita"-area in Fallen Earth? Possible, but how many EvE players stopped playing because of the lag in Jita? :P

Use Win7 64-bit. I have most games running up to 20-50% (!!) faster than on Vista, and some run faster in DX10 than in DX9 under XP. That says a LOT.

    Heed my words !

Try the open beta , if they have one.

then  come back and laugh at the fan boys.

If you thought tabula rasa, Vanguard, AoC, Warhammer etc were let downs brace yourself , even for an indie mmo , really brace yourself. If your happy to spend your money on it after trying it out then enjoy, I wish i could be so easily entertained.

Another nail in the coffin of the mmo industrie. RIP

I'm pretty sure the game performs better than that. Hypothetically if you were in and that's the performance you are getting, then I'd look at your rig. I'd take it to Vegas bookies that it runs better than that on a 3 year old rig, lol.

I'd make that bet with you. There's nothing wrong with my machine, that I can promise you.

I know...you would THINK that a game this close to release would HAVE to perform better than that, right???

    You would think....

Well, I guess it would come down to whose machine we were using, yours or mine, lol! I want to win so let's use mine, ok?

I've been playing the beta on my laptop, with an average of 50-60 FPS. I play on medium/high graphics, I don't think you'll need an amazing computer to play this.
