I made the same mistake the first time :P
Other than the Aionsucks thing I would say that is pretty accurate. Looks great but thats about it. Gamers deserve alot better.
What exactly do you mean "gamers deserve a lot better"?
The review or the game itself?
Dude, the second video was so funny.
very good videos
It's very clearly that thousands of people do NOT think Aion sucks, just the opposite.
Just because someone made a video about it... does not give them more credibility than anyone else as far as I'm concerned.
(I'm assuming based on some of the posts, that the videos was not talking kindly about the game... but if they are giving it a good review then good... though what I said is still true.) I'll be playing this game for sure.
I love aion and i think the videos are pretty accurate. Is not trying to say the game is bad, is just making a honest review of the game with some comical side to it.
I love aion.. still i know is not the perfect mmo .. but still much better than others.

The only thing I do not like about this game is the lack of classes. My most played mmo was DAoC with like 48? classes with many spec options to.... 8 with no spec options? This just turns me off from get go.

Only watched Video 1 so far. Good quality, funny, and interesting description.
The thing annoying me thus far is that he hasn't mentioned PvP once. I don't know how you can review a game like Aion without reviewing that aspect of the game. Maybe from a PvE ONLY perspective this game is pretty similar to WoW. But frankly, if I wanted to PvE I would have stuck with wow anyway.
Those were both very impressive and pretty much spot on. I don't really think he was bashing the game, just some honesty and humor mixed together. He points out a lot of neat features and how those features are then summarily abused or not as cool as you might have thought in certain lights. Anyone thinking he was bashing the game is a bit overly sensitive to criticism.
As for the "Aionsucks" at the end of video 2, he was making fun of the hate mail he got from making fun of Aion's only 2 starter zones at the start of video 1, in particular the guy who wrote him rather strongly stating that WoW only has one starter zone for all classes. Have some humor people. MMO's, as a genre have a lot of weak points and he could've made (and I kind of wish he would) a similar video set for any current MMO on the market.
Yes, I totally agree with you, so I think you deserve WAY BETTER game. You should go to play Warhammer. You know what!!! You should play Tabula Rasa or Matrix Online!!!!!! These 2 games are perfect for you!
I just don't understand the sense of "entitlement" this person has. We are lucky to live in a part of the world where you can play video games.
It's just another one of those "it's not what I want in a game, so therefore it is not a good game" type people.
If it's not your cup of tea, fine move on. As long as a game "works" when it launches (unlike a lot of western made games) and doesn't defraud the customer, it's really just a matter of personal taste which is subjective.
If you purchase a game and it doesn't work (Vanguard, Age of Conan at launch) yeah, you deserve to get your money back or at least get what you paid for, a working game/service.
If you purchased a game and don't like it...well that's your problem. You should have researched it first.
LMAO at : "I don't know what's going on there with my face, but you know, whatever!"
ROFL!!! ya... no comments.
Now playing : FFXIV
Waiting on : TBD
Best MMORPGs played : EQ, FFXI
It was entertaining, but not sure how unbiased it really was. He definitely wasn't an Aion fanboy, but you could tell that he was mostly experienced with the EQ clone themepark games and had little experience with sandbox, skill based games.
this game is just plain to expensive in my view
Aion will probley be a pretty good game but I dont think its for me, never been able to get into asian culture games.
Sic semper tyrannis "Democracy broke down, not when the Union
ceased to be agreeable to all its constituent States, but when it was upheld, like any other Empire, by force of arms."
As far as I know, PvP starts at level 25. How can he show it when part 1 was starting off and part 2 was levels 11-20?
The other two things I got from the the videos was... you can be Wolverine, and... you can design your female avatars with extremely large boobs...
they are actually funny in serveral parts.
Some things of note:
You can change the look of your gear after a fashion (no pun intended) by using the looks of one piece and using the stats of another piece. High lvl abyss gear does not allow you to change it, though I believe you can add the look of higher lvl abyss gear to a lower lvl item.
Also, at the moment the dyes are limited. blue, green, brown and purple (lavendar?) Hopefully they will add a greater spectrum for players.
the two starter areas (one for each race) doesn't bother me becuase that's the story. you really don't spend an inordinate amount of time there so to me it is a non-factor.
Also, you can fail at gathering. It doesn't happen a lot but it does happen.
for the most part it seems people either like the game or hate it. It really is personal taste.

Very nice reviews, the reviewer sure has potencial.
I particulary liked the 2nd one and some of things pointed out by the reviewer in part 1 and 2 are reasons i had already found out that made me move away from the Aion train.
I love these videos i laughed so much, 10 points for the author.
Really, i have a very well balanced opinion about Aion
Compared to Lineage 2: Aion rocks in every way, simply is much better than L2, it should be. And it's a very good point of reference because both are asian style MMOs
Compared to WoW: Aion fails at certain points, like walking under the water, no diversity in gathering resources (oh, i'm sucking fishes with my magical hands..... :P). And the auction house interface, but it should be improved soon or later, i expect soon than later. And limited flying it's something i don't like, i prefer to be chained to the ground until lvl 20 or so and then fly wherever i want.
But it's quite atractive in other ways, graphics, skill combos, with skill trees where you can get new movements for your combos and air combat, the personal stores are a good thing too.....
I don't know, i consider to play the beta but just if i just have to pay 5 euros to prereserve it and then i can cancel it without morality charges because it just was 5 euros, i didn't buy the entire game
To be honest - the guy was funny but I would hardly call it "unbias"... and yes - I've watched both videos - end to end...
Ya, he had some valid points - other points were just stupid or things that I personally wouldn't care about.
I could easily take the same approach and make a Warcraft video (for sake of arguments - it could be any MMO) and tell you the pros/cons of it over the first 20 levels.

hehe so true.
