Complete noob to MMO's looking for a bit of help!

bawnslippybawnslippy Member Posts: 2

Hi guys,

my first post here so Hi all!

I'm a noob to MMO's, never really understood them and I wanna give them a proper go.

What I'm really looking for is something similar to Diablo 2 - lot's of action and destroying things very quickly.

I trialled WoW and Age of Reckoning but found them quite boring...maybe because no one else I knew was playing but....but I also found the quests very tedious and got in the way of my killing things....I didn't want 4 consecutive quests telling me to walk here, walk there then walk back....pretty boring. And The action was slow too, only really fought 2 monsters at a time at most, whereas in Diablo I fought 10-20 at a go, then went straight into killing another 10 or 20. Also liked the range of skills and quick levelling. Oh, and I didn't like the slow skill casting in WoW and WAR...waiting long periods between casting spells....I just want to fire hundreds of fireballs or massive volleys of arrows!

So yeah I'm looking for an action action action game!

Hope you can help!

Cheers

sounds like mmos arnt your thing. these games are more about strategy and building up your character then the action. maybe you should go buy a xbox or something.

Dark Age of Camelot and Asheron's Call both can have very similar pve systems to what you are looking for with Diablo. DAOC requires certain classes or a group to aoe pull hard, and can get rather hairy at times, while in Asheron's Call getting pinned in a corner with 100+ mobs trying to kill you while you blast them down is the norm....and a hell of a lot of fun.

Both games are a bit dated, AC is from 1999 / 2000 and DAOC I believe is 2001 - 2003 ish.

You might like either Warrior Epic or Dungeon Runners. Some people feel that those aren't MMOs at all, and they may have a point, but they are online and multiplayer... And they are on the game list here, so you can check those out and see if they are more fun for you.

    ...
This is where I draw the line: __________________.

I can appreciate what you say about getting an xBox but thing is I have no intention of playing any of the other games on an xBox - I'm a PC gamer first and foremost. Pyro and Neschria, cheers for the tops, I'll look into them :)

For fast paced Diablo like action, you may want to try Granada Espada (also known as Sword of the new world).

U may want to try City of Heroes as well, it has alot of fightin lots of NPCs at once and pretty fast action. Plus they have free trials.

If your brandspanking new I would suggest auctually trying out Runescape. Childish, yes. Addicting, you bet your ass it is.
