questions about my pc.please help

im running a AMD athlon 3200, 1024mb ddr pc3200, 160gb harddrive, crappy geforce fx5200. 300watt power supply
im wanting to get a radeon 9800pro but not sure if my power supply will supply enough power, any answers?

    You can run it. Just not for long periods (I believe)

    But I reccomend you pay another 50 and just go with a 420 or something, it'll be less strain.

    And for future reference, we have an off topic forum. Particularly a thread titled "Computer Deals, Help, and Advice" where you can post your questions.

    thanks, also will a radeon 9800pro need a power cord or does it run off the motherboards power?

    my 9800 XT uses a separate power cord from the psu.

    So I'm gonna go with that and say yes, it will need a connection to your psu.

    A friend of mine had a similar setup and after about 4 hours of constant use the system would lock up & BSOD. 

     I recommend :

    image  Get a better PSU (350 at least).  They can be awkward to fit though.  If you need a new case it would be prudent to get both at once with the decent 350+ PSU already fitted in the nice new case.

    ok cool, i also had my mind on a 9600xt and was wondering if it would run perfect on WOW because thats the main game im gonna be playing?

    Go get yourself an OCZ Powerstream 420.  You won't be disappointed.
