although i understand this is an incredibly minute issue to have with the game, I'm wondering if anyone else agrees with me on this. In FFXI, I was incredibly bothered by the Elvaan's, and hume's for that matter, stationary "stance". It had this unbridaled feeling of arrogance it, with one foot in front of the other with the shoulders turned forward, as if to suggest "So what?" with their body language. I dunno, I'm hypersensitive to these little details but I feel like the avatars in FFXIV might look a little more neutral and balanced with hands and feet to the side, like a normal person would stand. Anyone else agree with me on this?

The Elvaan in FFXI were arrogent... if you read the background lore you would know that.
the Elvaan looked like giraffes.
I would like a very broad range of customization in this game, FFXI's was horrid.
If the new game has shoulders square and feet side-by-side with the characters facing forward, then this is great and how it should be.
For a few years, some MMO's (EQ2 in particular) thought it would be cool to have characters assume an angled stance, with one foot forward, shoulders turned so one side (the left) faced forward, and the head moving from center to right as if looking off for some bizarre reason. The impact of this was that it was hard to tell which direction your character was facing.
Now, I don't mind fancy stances if in combat mode, but for general mode (just walking around town), I prefer it the way it seems to be heading in FF XIV.
Honestly I wish games would give us the option during character creation to pick a stance for your character (I think champion online allows it). It always annoyed me that everyone stands exactly the same. Even if it is just 4 or 5 choices I would be satisfied.
I know I am nitpicking, but that's what I do... :-p
