Maybe it's because I am burnt out on Fantasy sword and sorcery mmo's ... but I've tried both games and I like Champions better ... sue me. I disliked Aion from the moment I started it and had to kill those cuddly ... uh I mean ... scary ferociuos beast.
I liked Champions from the moment I spent two hous just designing my Hero LOL. ( And I've played CoH/V) hmm go figure.

to each his own, personally the only thing about CO that looks even vaguely interesting is the swinging mechanic for me, however aions crafting / gathering / pvp / and pve systems have me hooked.
Different strokes for different folks
Controversial.
Um, hardly.
It is better than Aion is just about every way but the simple fact is that the masses still have not learned to love super-hero mmos like they do with fantasy mmos. The other problem Champions has is that many may be turned off by the microtransactions even if it isn't effecting gameplay.
Aion is a bit of a oddity in the avatar design area. Having a race that can be designed to look like anything sounds a triumph of player tool flexibility over lore. Did they even bother to try to explain how come a single race can look like a Dwarf, a human, an elf etc?
But I am a big fan of avatar design options so I can’t complain too much, loved CoX's flexibility.
I know right! I mean come on, in real life humans dont come in all shapes and sizes.
We all look the same, we all have the same skin color, we all have the same hair....
O wait! Give me a break, people have been with games like WoW and Tabula Rasa so long that they forget what the term "Race" means.
Worst post I have ever read in my life Scot.

I personally think Aion is better, ofc its subjectional to personal view. I personally arent too interested in the whole idea of superheroes and the settings of such as far as gaming goes, movies I'm all in on.
I think the thread title however is to trolls what worms are to fish, probably going to be alot of people saying that you are completely wrong and even if they havent played Aion or Champions Online they will act like they have, in order to glorify whatever game they are looking forward to more.
Better or worse is as subjective as it can get. What a certain person likes, another dislikes.
Thing is, one game offers a full game via the regular subscription model, while the other felt like a good idea to introduce an RMT shop on top of that. Personally I dislike gold sellers/farmers, whether they are "illegal" or "legit". Therefore, the choice (unfortunately) is easy.
ima beta testing champions online and im also beta testing aion online imo aion beats champions by far it has so much more to do like craft/dungeon/sieges/pvp etc champions online just felt boring the only thing i really like about CO was the charatcer creation
For me Champions online is not a good game due to the fact pvp is waaaaaaay too much instanced. But for people who likes it go for it but it aint my cup of tea.
AS have been said already , wich game is better is pure personal opionion.
Im afraid that co is gonna be like city of heroes which is character creation crasy fun and after that booring.
I hope that co can live up better but ill see on 17/8 then im gonna try it and see how it feel.
And despite what many says a game should feel fun from the getgo .
-Semper ubi sub ubi!
always wear underwear
I actually like both in their own way, but I did have a harder time leaving the computer with CO.
Oh and Scot... Humans are pretty diverse if you haven't noticed. Ever seen a person with dwarfism, also called midgets or more politically correct; "little people". How about black people, you know the ones that originated from Africa? :P
Then there is this thing called the NBA, a lot of tall people work there.
LOL some of you guys are funny. I would think it would go without saying that a person's post is his/her opinion and not fact. Why overstate the obvious. Also troll ? ... WTF is that? All post are trolling in some way or another arn't they? Is that the best you got? When you don't agree or don't like something you feel it's your obligation to deem it worthless. BTW is "Troll" a bad thing?
However I did learn something ... I had no Idea Champions was an RMT.
Doesn't Champions have the same? And I even played in a PQ in Champions ... ala Warhammer Online ... does Aion have PQ's? Not sure if Champions does have all {I'm sure u can craft and PvP but not sure of siege and dungeons, are dungeons another name for instances? cause if so thats in there too}
I sure am funny O.o... why overstate the obvious about a post being ones personal oppinion? welcome to mmorpg.com forums.
I can see you've been a member for some time but seriously do you really have to ask why it needs to be stated? Though I have seen some slight improvement on this front of things as less people then before state their oppinion as fact.
i couldn't compare the 2 really, completely different style of games. i really like Aion alot but will probably check out Champions online when its released. i played CoX but by the time i got into it the servers had died down a bit but did enjoy the gameplay and the style of the game, was refreshing after playing countless fantasy based games. did enjoy the super hero thing tho, was fun to make characters see how different you could make them.
but the micro taht CO has is a killer for me, i refuse to play an SOE game for the same reason.
