Your character disappears and adventurine can't restore it. This happens.
You log in one day and your only character is gone. AV has no record of it being manually deleted, and they have no idea what happened to it, but they regret to inform you that it cannot be restored.
Yeah, it's bullshit and completely unaccetpable. Only a two bit hack of an MMO operation could let something like this happen.

I guess they did not try out customer service over at GAMEobserver before rating Darkfall.
Maybe your character experienced perma death. Now wouldn't that be hardcore?
AV's response in the forums: "What you are describing cannot happen. Closed".
Either this is a case of shamefully sloppy work by Aventurine, or the OP is BS misinformation.

Sorry to hear Trench.
Don't give up on getting a restoration without speaking to someone from support in person. It would definitely be a slap in the face if they can't at least tell you what happened to cause it.
Considering that Trench has been one of the most ardent defenders of DarkFall and Aventurine for quite some time now... what reason would he have for "BS misinformation"?

Im willing to bet this didnt happen to Trench but happened to his cousins friend's brother.
Even for a niche genre, there is a lot of money at stake.
If you have a rivel game in the same niche market coming out, it would be beneficial to turn gamers off your main competition.

So said rival had the OP create an account 4 years ago, and then pretend they actually liked DarkFall and post quite vehemently in their defense.
Then when the time is right he turns on them to be more convincing?

It's also very unlikely that he was abducted by aliens and had a probe inserted which causes him to spew out random posts on an internet gaming forum.
Just saying, not really sure what the point is of coming up with "very unlikely" scenarios. Unless of course for entertainment's sake. The one above is my contribution.
Someone else posted this while trolling on DF's forums. The thread was locked by a mod. Trench thought it would be cool to copy and paste it here.
So no there isnt any conspiracy to pay Trench off....

It works both ways haters. You're quick to point out I've defended the game when you want to support a negative post, but you completely ignore the negative posts I've made when I go on to defend some aspect of the game.
The truth is I just tell it how it is and don't have an interest in blind hatery or propaganda on either side.
Well if someone else posted it and it was locked on there forum. What is the reason why it was locked??..Like to see link for that..And the OP posted the same problem..Look like to me that Darkfall has a problem..

Did it happen to you? What you described above was the official support answer?
If it is so, it's beyond unacceptable, and shows exactly how fragile is the 'client x server' structure of the game, and that the game is quite jury-rigged at the moment. Not that surprising, when the company being discussed is Aventurine.
Care to discuss what happened during the last few days? Your extreme change of stance towards the game is intriguing, as I suspect lots of things went wrong. It's always interesting to discuss such experiences.

accusing someone, whos been here for years, for taking money is not impossible, but pure bullshit. that is all.

I think you may need more than I. Its funny how the DF fanboys quickly turn on each other when one has a negative experience. Gotta love the soap-opera that is "Days of our Darkfall".

You know it is possible to be honest. Trench could have been paid off to post negatively on DFO, it is possible. You could also be someone Tasos or AV paid off to try and do damage control over here on MMORPG.com, that is also possible. After all, there is a lot of money at stake. Wouldn't it benefit AV if people believed that MO had paid off DFO fans to post negatively about DFO? Then all negative reviews and comments would be questionable. Not saying you were paid to come over here and try that kind of thing MMO_Doubter, just saying it's possible and that I'm not naive enough to believe it isn't.
If you delete your character they can't be expected to just recreate it for you. 99% chance your account was hacked and your char robbed and then deleted.
I doubt there is a bug that only affects one or two people and it just completely nukes one of their characters. Sounds like char was deleted. Sorry man.

Actually it was a bug that existed in beta lol. Happend to only a few people and only a few times. In any case, Trench seems to think AV looked into it and could find no record of his char being manually deleted. So I don't know.
Even with the manual deletion, any decent backup and DB system could effectively restore data if requested in short notice (which would seem to be the case). Having whole chunks of data dead and gone is either CS sloppiness or extremely unreliable tech behind the game.
In Aventurine's case, both are possible and even likely, sadly.
