OK WoW is not a bad game, but with all the server downtime almost daily and when they are up theres so many problems that its just not worth it. I dont play alot, but when I want to, I cant. Wish I could get a refund, and thanks for making my #1 MMORPG choice EQ2!!! WTG Blizzard.

I wouldn't say that PotatoMan. In the last week they had a whole lot of downtime. Sometime last week the servers were down for 10+ hours(fix instances and login server problem), yesterday there was alot of downtime for the patch, and now today another 2 hours(so far) with the login server. Also a bunch of crashes during the last week and ~1 hour downtimes(that isn't including daily maintenence either).
It's still the first month(1 day left
) so I'm not going to quit over it yet, though.

Stop your whining, I dont know what all the fuss is about! I play all the time and i hardly find any downtime. If there is downtime, its for a good reason im sure. They have a lot of servers you know, and there is inevitably going to be maintanance on them!
But i have hardly noticed any downtime at all! The patch had some downtime, but that was necessary. IF they say there is routine server maint. than its for the best. Have the servers down for 2 hours is much better than something randomly happening and the servers going down for a whole day or longer ( EQ2 ).
Right now is the only downtime i've had in a long time and they're currently having an issue with people logging into the game. I say? Oh well, its a random problem, they'll have it fixed eventually, im not goign to whine abou it though.

Woh there buddy go ahead and play eq2lol (stick to Electronics your games are crappy SOE)but does posting it here make it better? all it does is make a flame war but thats how all topics turn out ill show you
yep somthin like that.and I play wow alot and im able to log in when i want 95%+ of the time yea theres alittle downtime and im glad graphics are not top of the line i couldent have 150+ people on my screen all casting spells and fighting with almost no lag on eq2 gl having 10 do that on eq2 lol but gl to ya so to sum it up leave the wow forums and dont come back 1 less person to cry about a game i gotta listen 2......
P.S. i have a hangover atm so im bein creative to keep my mind off the pain
even if almost everything i say makes no sense =_

1. Yes it does make me feel better to post here, it is the WoW board after all.
2. I cant post on the WoW website, why you ask? Cause the login server is DOWN, just like the servers.
3. My system can handle extreme graphics, WoW cant even touch it.
4. Im not starting a flame war. I said WoW is a good game and it is. When I cant log in more than 50% of the time that = a game headed for the dumpster.

I am subscribed to the game at the moment so if I feel like venting on the forum so be it. A lot of people just need to admit the game is only fair and not the second coming. I will play till the end of the included month but doubt seriously if I will ever pay for the second month.
And yes the *&$#*@^ servers are down right now which is why I am here venting rather than playing. I promised my brother I would give the game 30 days so after Jan 09 you won't see me on this forum again.

Wow is an excellent game. When it's working well, I have a great time and I do put in a lot of hours a week. I beta tested EQII, so I had a taste of it, but I just want my WoW.
That being said, Blizzard has done a fairly bad job running the game. Customer support is very poor, servers will have problems for many hours before someone has the sense to do a quick reset. Customer relations are pretty bad on the official forums. They brought out some illogical nerfs in the most recent patch. They only have one Auction House for each faction, which makes the host cities and the AH very laggy, then they decide to put all the holiday special stuff right in front of the AH, etc...
I can't say they are running it much worse than other mmorpgs have been run, but I somehow expected more from Blizzard.
I think the one area were they have sadly made every other mmorpg I've played look good is with GM petitions. I have put in petitions at the beginning of an 8+ hour play fest and still never had a response. Not a single petition has ever been answered and I don't make them trivially. I know they have a lot more servers than they seemed to have been expecting, but they have made SOE customer support look good.
The good thing is that I've been too busy having too much fun most of the time to rant about anything, but when the servers are down for extended periods, I definitely have time to reflect on the way the game is being run. If they want to keep a large portion of the huge flood of people they got at launch, they need to do a much better job dealing with the customer base.

But you dont understand there there is no possible way it could be down 50% of the time you try to log unless, you only log in on patch days and days with posted server matience.
I never said your system sucked i just said that even if you had a 4ghz 2gb of ram and some godalmighty 600$ vid. card you couldent play eq2 like wow and graphics are not everything in a mmo ne way i would much rather battle with 100 people than go grind for several hours ne way so do whayever you want just make sure you have fun with it again i have a huge hangover so nothin will make sense no proof reading for me

It's better to do downtime and fix/update the game instead of not doing anything about it (EverQuest II).
I have only had 2 downtimes anyways. I don't see the big problem. But if you don't like it Ramadin, you can still take the game back if you have the recipt and buy EQ2 or whatever game your looking for.
It's a pretty inconvenient time to be down, but things happen. I have found the servers to be pretty steady for the most part. I'm sure this massive new patch has a lot to do with things, so it's certainly understandable even if I would really like to play right now.
All I really need are places like this to come and vent when the servers are down.
Ugh...WoW is a gret game as far as gameplay is concerned IMHO. But cant make myself pay for a game and then pay a monthly fee for no service. Canceled my account and gonna try out EQ2.
for what its worth... $14.99 / month? yeah right.

Yea I have no respect for anyone at blizz. POS people, decent game (when its up and working) PaY 15 bucks for GM's that take days to get to you, and pay for crappy service. THX blizz u roxors.
