World of Warcraft: Report: "Cataclysm" a New Expansion?

Is "Cataclysm" the name of Blizzard's newest expansion? Will we see Goblin's & Worgen as races in this potential expansion? More importantly, will it be making its debut at BlizzCon this year?
So, what am I talking about?
Odds are you've already heard about this story, after all it has been floating around the internet for a little while now. But for those who haven't, Blizzard has recently filed a trademark for the name "Cataclysm" as discovered by this Tumblr blogger. Since then, it has led many to speculate that "Cataclysm" will be the name of Blizzard's next expansion.
Putting aside general speculation here, there is some evidence that would lend credibility to this claim. For example, the word "Cataclysm" has some history within the timeline of Azeroth. The Cataclysm was a world shaping event also known as The Great Sundering.
Also, new Halloween mask textures were discovered within the data of a recent update to the World of Warcraft Public Test Realm. The new masks featured both male and female Worgen's and Goblins. The last time Blizzard added new Halloween masks was when the Blood Elves and Draenei were coming to the game.
Is this all a coincidence? Or can we expect a big announcement at this year's Blizzcon? Only a few more weeks until we find out!

I couldn't really give one crap. Another year to look forward to where all they give us is more wow (SC2 delayed!!!). They're totally screwing over their non-mmo players... heh, well I feel less screwed after quitting wow actually.
How are they going to anal ravage the lore this time to account for Death Knight Worgen or Death Knight Goblins?

It's because Blizzard wants the Yiffy crowd.....there is some other MMO where you can play Furries coming out and Blizzard dosen't want to lose that base.
that would be amazing to play a neutral race, i don't know how they would fit in the lore tho...
maybe they will create a different world like they did with BC?
i am looking forward to it tho i am still not done with Arthas's expansion

If most of yuo dont know, goblins actually fought with the horde in the 2nd war in warcraft lore, and broke of once they fund out it was more profitable to play both sides. If most of you noobs actualyl read the lore of wow, it actually blows most rpg games lore out of the water any day. hell go play WC3 or 2 and you will see the lore just from those 2 games.

Ok... lets say the Worgen are for the furries than what the heck are the goblins for? What kind of sick people is Blizzard trying to atract with the goblins?
Goblins can't becoming a playable race unless they are making a 3rd playable faction that would include only goblins.
This would be possible, but I have no idea how they would begin to deal with the content that has been there since the beginning that included the goblins as a neutral party. In the books, they play off each side whenever it's profitable or screw them all, so I don't see it being able to work.
I think this whole thing is just a load of crap, personally.

I would rather them be were creatures in hybrid form, lycans in name. Like what's next a Goblin/wogen lycan that can hybrid to either unless they are a druid in which they could go to the bear/cat thing as well. This cutsey wootsie gaming style has to go!!! And as an fyi furries cannot be sexy. Maybe nightmarish,but def. not sexy. Oh, unless ones into animal kink...etc.weird!

This expansion will be huge, we will start at lvl 80 now with full epic gear....
I have to dissagree; look how many blood elves and draenai are 'neutral' in the later levels, yet they're still either Horde or Alliance as playable characters. Why can't Goblins and Wargen do that, too?

Read up on warcraft lore, there is so much that isnt even explored in the game atm its untrue. Jesus goblins have their own armies, own island everything. And to state again Goblins are not toally neutral, hell they provide all the travel sevices for Horde by Zepllin and boats. Goblins if they were to come into the game as a playable faction, already have their own history and everything, so I dont see it as any problem at all. hell I can forsee major politics and alliance happening if they were to introduce another faction.
Infact there are huge zones in wow atm that you cant even see because they are locked of now. One of them is where the eternal tree is.
Its easy to add goblins as a horde race they will simply be a different goblin faction that join the horde, the goblins and goblin towns already in the game remain neutral. Just look at the undead, the undead fighting for the horde are "the forsaken" a factoin of the undead.
As to worgen, its know in game and the lore that the citizen on the city gleanis were overrun by worgen and the city sealed off, now that whats his name is dead the wogen are free and thus will join the allaince.. if its true it will be the only time I would ever feel the need to reroll on the pure basis of a race, maybe their racial will be some kind of life siphon, "worgen bite - siphon %hp from the target, 3min cooldown"
Blizzard will almost certinaly have to re-model the goblin though cus they are pug-ugly.
In 11 days we might know more at Blizzcon.

I agree, there are already plenty of Troll factions that are enemies of the horde so a goblin ally would be reasonable.
Am I the only one who is still down trodden by Gamesworkshop not doing WoW? I mean come on.... Everyone knows that if a single furry should be added, it would be the Skaven. Skaven on the Horde side would be badass, and everyone knows it. Holla if ya here a cracka!

Human -> Empire
Orcs & Trolls -> Greenskins
Night Elves -> Wood Elves
Goblins -> Greenskins
Undead -> Vampire Counts (gooier than Tomb Kings)
Dwarves -> Dwarves
Death Knights (not really a race, but...) -> Warriors of Chaos

Worgen and Draenei have no Warhammer analog... similarly, Warhammer's Lizard Men, Bretonnians, Daemons, Skaven, Ogre Kingdoms, Tomb Kings, and High Elves have no real WoW equivalents.
I'd be much more interested in seeing some new, "original" races in WoW. Goblins are too similar to orcs to be of any interest to me. Worgen are a decent addition, as they're different from all the other current races.
Ideally, I'd like to see everything become more complicated by adding a third faction to the mix. Hypothetically:
Horde: Orcs, Trolls, Tauren, Blood Elves, Undead
Alliance: Humans, Dwarves, Night Elves, Draenei, Gnomes
???: Goblins, Worgen, Nagas, Pandaren
As the Horde is tribal-flavored, and the Alliance is kingdom-flavored, the third faction would likely have its own distinct flavor...

wraith of the lich king with no lich king, hmm...
lots of problems with stability and lag, and other glitches. Also they lack balance, and HANDICAP everything so they can get it easily. zz
