MMO wars..

So, lately I have been wondering why us MMO gamers fight over what games we play.  For example, if a World of Warcraft player spots a RuneScape player, the WoW player will say "You nerd!  RuneScape sucks, come play this game the graphics are better!"  While the RuneScape player will respond "Stfu, only nerds with no life play WoW"  Or say if someone plays Maple Story people will say "That game is one big grind,  you must have no life!"  So, my question is.. Why do us MMO gamers fued over what games we play?  Are we one big community?  I mean, we dont like some games and like others, but shouldnt be just get along no matter what our game is?  Any thoughts?

Have Played: RuneScape, Guild Wars, WoW.
Waiting For: Guild Wars 2

    We are one big community. One big dysfunctional community.

    Lets face it, we are a bunch of players who like to fight and raid. It doesnt matter against what, against who or even where.

    Forums are PvP

     

    HOwever, also understand the vast majority of players do NOT use forums and only a small fraction of those who do actually flame eachother. MOst just watch and eat popcorn

    Haha that just made me laugh but it's oh so true. I know I do the same thing with my friends depending on what mmo games they start playing. I'm not sure why we do it but I don't think we can ever stop. It goes with the theme of pvp after all :D

    There are many reasons for this

    1- People like to feel their game is better; since we spend so many hours on these games, feeling your game sucks... some people might feel they suck for playing a bad game,, so they try to defend their game

    2- When you play mmos for so long,.. mmos make you closed minded; yes im sorry, but after i played ffxi for 4 years, that was all i knew,, any other mmo was a waste of time. The i got into wow, and all the other mmos were nothing.

    3- There are alot of inmature kids roaming around forums with nothing better to do.

    4- Creates Hype

    5- Natural male competition

    If you watch The Karate Kid backwards it's about this karate champ that just kinda slowly becomes a pussy and ends up moving back to Jersey
