This game has so much going for it, but was just implemented poorly
-Love the artwork/theme of the game
-RvR has so much potential, yet mythic did it in a way that sucked, for lack of a better word
-Love the PvP focus
But at the end of the day, this, with so many other things did not work out, due to the brilliant minds at mythic.
So seriously someone who knows what they are doing, please save this game!

The game actually has nothing going for it, the pvp is implemented poorly. The fact being keeps were only implemented late on in beta, as open pvp was not the focus of mythic for the game Scenarios were the focus. The keeps are piss poor, the combat is poor, the animations suck, melle combat sucks, the chat functions suck, crafting sucks, siege wepaons suck, NPC AI sucks, PQ's suck. Everything sucks except the leveling in scenarios, and u know what the funny thing the only fun thing about the game is the early Gates of ekrand and battle for nordenwatch scenarios, and the early tier 1 and tier 2, besides that it all drops down hill fast. Hell the designs of the keeps were the biggest mistake known to MMO design, who ever though of the ramps leading upto the keee lords need to be sacked and never ired again, along with the monkey slaves who made the siege weapons.
Sorry there is no saving this game, Mark jacobs has already been sacked, hopefully they sack that other monkey, Paul barnett. By his podcasts and developer casts alone u would have thought this game was the 2nd coming of jesus. All hype and no action.

Move on don't look back, come to Darkfall where the real PVP is at in MMO's. If they had done WAR like DF has been done it would have been such a winner! Too bad they kept looking over their shoulder at WOW whilst developing it.
At game launch people flocked to Destro side because they had the "cool avatars"
Almost every server had a Destro advantage and order was getting owned....."the cries were heard on all forums"
Then Order figured out how to play especially the Bright Wizard and Warrior Priest and Engineer for a while, people flocked to
Order and dominated almost every server.
Some of the most popular avatars Bright Wizards, sorcerers, and witchelves were way OP and got nerfed bigtime, but CC still
remained in the game which continues to be a problem in WAR. Now they claim they are fixing it but in the land of MMO's the window to impress is very small...a little too late Mythic.
CC and AOE ruined this game for many when Mythic didn't want to listen people like me simply voted with their wallets and gave them the middle finger.
Next false advertising.....Huge WAR!!! WAGGHHHH!!! Fight Realm Vs. Realm in huge battles!! Yah in the opening scene it all looks great and flows like italian wine, until you actually experienced the immense lag when it came to huge battles at end game.....the servers literally lagged like a 1980 server and ultimately crashed many many times per night.
The fix...cap the big battles at 50 each, so much for the advertisted HUGE BATTLES!!! They touted at release.
And the most glaring issue of WAR it's just plain boring, try taking a keep over and over yah that gets boring....this game just doesn't have enough going on to entertain people for this long. Games like SWG, Guild Wars, WOW and other MMo's (although they still have problems)giive other players to occupy their time besides taking keeps.
IMO this game has about one year left if even that, if it drops below 100k you can kiss it goodbye, with newer and better games (so they claim) on the horizon WAR will see a decreasing sub number more than an increase...RIP WAR it was fun while it lasted.

The game can't be saved, and here is why. The zones are both too small, and too much like an instance. I've been reading Gotrek and Felix and the expanse of the world in Warhammer is so much larger than what is represented in WAR. Idealy the game world would be the scope and size of LoTRO, probably larger even, without zoning. There would be plenty of open land for city building, open RvR, and adventuring. Mythic failed to deliver anything worthwhile with the game.
The PvE is a borefest. Then again, most PvE feels like this to me.
The PvP is too CC and AoE centric. It's too much like WoW PvP, too level and gear dependent.
The RvR isn't meaningful enough. Not enough of the world is affected by RvR.
Items are either too easy to obtain, or too over/underpowered. The crafting is shoddy and pointless, and class sets aren't properly itemized.
The engine is down right awful. Too many lock ups, lag spikes, and visual anomalies for the game to be fully enjoyable on even a high end machine.
The factions are bad. The way the sides are allied is just all wrong. Dwarves and Elves wouldn't be so willing to become allies after the things that went on at Karak Eight Peaks. Chaos would not align itself with anyone. And Dark Elves have a deep seeded hatred for Chaos.
The only thing Mythic did correctly in my opinion was the scenarios. However, I don't feel they are appropriate for the Warhammer IP in an MMO. But, if you were to be able to purchase the game simply as a lobby client and play scenarios only, it would probably be a good non-sub game. The scenario maps have nice variety, decent design, and are the only fun you can get out of the game with a small group of friends.
I really don't think the game can be saved. It would take an entirely new approach to get the game in the shape it would need to be. Mythic isn't cappable of salvaging what they have created now, not to me anyway. I'm moving on to Champions Online, STO, and SWTOR.
I love the warhammer lore. I played this game since beta until last night. Poor client performance, bugs, poor map design, flawed campaign, end game city sieges buggy, fortresses mega lag, server crashes, and overall better order mirrors ruined it. Now every server in tier 4 has way more order than destro. Destro keep quitting every day and it will not stop. They should have made daoc 2 with warhammer skin, but instead they came up with this pathetic excuse for a product.
I could care less if people throw the meaningless word 'troll' at my post, but deep inside you know it is true. I think when that ncsoft mmo Aion comes out this fall, it will hit war right where it hurts I'm afraid.
Anyway, I'll just play some dawn of war 2 or something since it's the other warhammer game I know and the game is pretty fun (eventhough not an mmo)

I seriously dosen't understand why, a game that's release in 2004 can have such a much bigger world than this game. The world is so small, its like im inside a cage, really make me wana quickly finish whatever i do and hit level cap fast...
I hate scenerios. Another BG grind? Come on! what happen to all the creativity?
You are force to do scenerios because you need that reown when you hit level 40, if you dont do it when you leveling, than you will be lagging behind at 40.
Like what other poster said, seperate pve and pvp. Dont force players to do both especially when they are so boring...

What turned me off from WAR is that I hoped for L2-style castles and sieges, and got a horribly optimized engine and keeps with 2 floors and a stair. There was also no incentive for doing them, since scenarios offered a lot more xp, reown and even gold through repeatable quests, at a much faster rate.
I played WAR at start but gave up - The game is very stale to play ... the world feels dead and mecanical. Thats not Warhammer style.
I came back for the reevaluation time but again - I simply couldn't get past alot of the issues that the game has.
Frist off- Im a PVE-er rather than PVP-er. PVE in WAR is poorly implemented. It could have been so much more. To me PVE in WAR has HUGE potentials based on the unique graphic engine of diffrent looking mobs. Sadly rest of the engine - Abilities of mobs and classes in general is bad and unbalanced.
Now... Before I go on. PVPers - you simply will have to realise that WAR will not survife based on PVP. So for god sake get of your high horse of "its only for PVPers" and realise that the numbers is build on strong PVE content that gives players the feeling of acomplishment as a group (everybody are winners). PVP is not for everyone since 50% of players loose - and like it or not... that pretty much means that 50% of players will quit every 1-2 months - because they end up having no chance of progressing against those that get new Renown ranks - new items and better abilites. Im sorry if PVPers can't see how this system will leave the game with very low number of players - very limited content and featuers added - and probably no future.
But... I can't see WAR ever beeing a PVE game worth playing. For that the class balance is just to big - and that includes PVP to.
Beeing a PVEers doesn't mean I dont play PVP. I played RVR quite abit but there were so many big issues that it was increadible to ever think that anyone would be ready to accept this as worth paying sub for. Alot of things can be done to fix it - but its probably to late anyway.
Warhammer francies is HUGE in my eyes. Its just increadible how bad job Mythic did in implementing alot of the core of Warhammer.
But please PVPers - stop your selfish thinking that WARHAMMER will survife on PVP sub numbers. If you like DAOC then go play that game. Dont destroy a potential of a game because the game should only be for PVP...

This was the #1 reason I did not subscribe to the game during my trial. Nobody wanted to fight. They would even send scouts ahead to make sure there was nobody to fight before moving on a keep. If there was somebody guarding a keep, the zerg would stand in a war camp doing nothing until the keep guards left. Then and only then would they move on the keep. It was pathetic. The only PvP happened purely by accident when Mindless Zerg #1 unintentionally ran into Mindless Zerg #2 while moving to each other's undefended keeps.

The work needed to save this game is emmense at best. Is it worth saving? I say yeah, the IP is awesome and deserves a good representation. Not this squallid crap.
My #1 complaint is Mirror classes please. I know they had this grand dream of each class being unique, but unless you got some real smart number crunchers, its not gonna happen. There is no reason to have a slayer vs. DoK where the slayer always wins, then a choppa vs. a WP where the WP always wins.
I seen it happen way too many times for it to be just bad players.
thats where the need to start IMO make it so the only difference between classes is flavor, not numbers. a WP and DoK or a magus and engineer, should have all their abilities do the exact same damage in numbers, sure call it something else, give it different animation, but create a real balance between the two groups.
Then get rid of two groups and make it three.
then make a different design for the keeps, seriously did all these keeps hire the same freaking architect?
the list goes on, and on and on, it would probably be better to just cut the game and go back to the drawing board, have to give it to a new company though, no ones gonna trust mythic with it now.
