Type Macro: Basically, one of the macros you can make in WoW, where you press a little icon on your Skillbar and it comes up with a message or whatever. This doesn't usually mean anything but if the enemy is smart, he OR she will relay their position to their team mates and you should probably run at that point. This is a moot point in a scenario where you are 1 against 1 throughout the WHOLE fight. In that case, macro doesn't really do anything.
An auto program / bot / macro / what you wanna call it: Because the bot is ONLY programmed to do certain actions, the enemy is probably at a huge disadvantage unless the autoing program was coded by Earth's best botting scripter.

Thank you.
This makes me feel alot better and yes the scenario i was thinking of was a fight between 2 players without any getting outside help.
Macros generally hurt you in pvp fights. PVP is more about reflexes not button mashing. Especially in regards to spell casting or cast sequences or chaining skills by pushing 1 button repeatedly instead of 1, 4, 6, 3, 5, 2, oh crap he did <insert skill> instead, 7, 1, 4, 2, 6 etc.
They hurt you honestly. There are too many variables and branches and a macroer will never be as good as someone who thinks fast on their toes. I am sure some macros can be very powerful though.
The macros in Aion I experienced were fail. They don't even wait for a skill to finish... I ended up only using macros to have a button on my skill bar that tells me the current time...
that means your macro was fail, u need to read up on them you can add delays for a reason
I never realy got the hang of making macros, i tried it in wow, but those were mostly premade ones. So in Aion, if i face a equal level enemy player, only he/she uses macros and i dont, i will stand no chance of winning ?
Heard the term "The quick and the Dead?" Well I think in games when it comes to pvp it the quick and the macro-dead.

Looking forward to see you ingame.
Sorry, but I don't play Aion, I just happened to chance upon the thread Have fun.
Comments
They have been in every game I have played so far
Even in games that don't allow for Macros all you need is a half decent keyboard/gamepad.
I think they will have a slight impact on PvP.
Macros generally make things easier. You don't NEED them, but they make things easier to handle with a limited amount of space on bars, etc.
Well, if you mean by a macro you mean...

PVE on the other hand.... lol.

macros work great for pvp if u want to have all of your buffs turned on at once and not want to hit several keys
that means your macro was fail, u need to read up on them you can add delays for a reason
