It starts next monday. If they get the key shipment in on friday, and it takes you 3 days or more to download the game, it's time for a new rig guy.

The pre-load is 1.8 GB, and took a little more than an hour when I DL'd it last week. I"m sure it will inflate and patch up, and that might take another hour or so, but I wouldn't worry it will take days to do that.

Your just now figuring out that Gamestop brick and mortar stores are the worst place to pre order from?  Yea ordering in store is actually the worst thing you can do especially gamestop whos' main focus these days is consoles and used games.  You'll get your key I'd just nag to death and if they don't have that key friday Call repeatedly the corporate number from the website until you get your key.

Could be worse..with warhammer stores just randomly started giving out keys to people who didn't even pre order under the viel'd guise of "no one told me what to do with them" as if they have no common sense.

Not that it really helps.. but the Gamestops on the other coast seem to have it together, at least the one near me in NC.  They said they would come in yesterday, but they got the shipment Friday, and called me as soon as it did so i could be sure to get one.

Not that it makes much difference now.. after registration and download i just have to wait a week... curses

I think it really comes down to who's running the store and what type of people they hire.

    ^^ This...

Basically if it isn't a console game their view is pretty much "Die in a fire"... Hell I remember way back when, and computer games were all they carried (was called babbages, egghead, and electronics boutique back then)... I say computer cames because they had PC, Apple, and Commodore... but then again I am old...

    What are your other Hobbies?

Gaming is Dirt Cheap compared to this...

From my experience on the east coast, Gamestop is the only store I go to in order to buy/preorder games. Everywhere else just bites.

I got my key on Thursday last week. I already have it preloaded and everything. Sorry you weren't able to get your key, but you still have time. This week is taking FOREVER to get through because of this lol.

    That's what I noticed.

    There are stores everywhere.

Gamestop employees are a pretty ignorant console group of people.

Look around until you find one with some MMO players who've advanced beyond the usual WOW group.

I seriously loled when i read the title since my game buddies in the states complain about the same thing and i have also read about it in the CO forums. I still dont understand why people dont digital preorder games. Its the new age = digital purchasing is the future!

well i dont think its the specific store locations that are jacking u around with the keys. i worked for gamestop for a period of time. if ne thing, if they dont have the keys and whatnot in store its cause of issues elsewhere, missed shipement. like one time we were supposed to have had gears of war or one of those hyped games at launch date, but lot of annoyed crazed gamers who probably never leave their homes because ups apparently drove off an left the stock of games at the loading area. stupid ups. really though i wouldnt be surprised if its an issue outside of the control of the actual store itself. granted some have some stupid people working there, but not all. i have 2 locations i do most of my business with. one has a few mmo fiends like myself. if they dont have the key when u ask them about it, its not cause they didnt feel like giving it out, or arent paying attention. they work the store, but they cant do much if they dont receive things in shipments .

I usually have no problems with gamestop, this time I ordered from the website instead and have been told to wait until the 12th. Then I should go to my local gamestop to pick up my bonus. They also told me that if my gamestop did not have any I could simply call/email them and they would be more than happy to make sure I got one either by email or the postal service.

I too live on the east coast.

  • cudzubobcudzubob Member Posts: 8

Waiting on mine, too, DonJuan... Supposed to be sometime today.  I'll post if I get mine, you do the same, capice? =)

Got mine 2 days ago from Gamestop.  I ordered online and received my email.

  • cudzubobcudzubob Member Posts: 8

Yeah, I think I've read a couple of people who've received their emails from Gamestop like Wed and Thursday, which is making me kinda nervous.  But then again, it's only the open beta, I guess I'll just have to be patient.  I was hoping to get it before I went to work this afternoon, so I could start the download process of the client before the weekend.  Thanks for the info, Phoenix =)

I picked up my pre-order card yesterday from them. If you ordered in store or for in store pick up they "should" have it for you.

I'm fortunate enough to be near two Gamestops here where I live and had no problem picking up a beta key last Monday. I don't know how much trouble it is shipping index cards as they are not actual cases like the one I got when I reserved CE Aion. But then again....I had to prompt the guys at the GS further from my house to look for the Aion key, but the young lady at the GS closer to where I live actually went for the beta key while another one rang me up......

I should have gone with the in-store pickup, but I decided to be all "21st Century" and go with the Online option.  That'll learn me! =)  Oh well, like I said, just have to force myelf (checking email for the 23rd time) to be parient and it'll come eventually.  Now if you'll excuse me, I have to check my email for the 24th, 25th, and 26th times.  Thanks again for the input, everyone!

Gamestop always staggers their release of beta keys email wise it works out better that way so there's not X thousands of people jamming up the fileplanet server.  Its not like you can download it and patch the game anyway so if you dont get your key until saturday or sunday your not missing anything.  Its fully encrypted and packed and can't be opened and patched until monday.   It just helps to have the first 1.8 gigs pre loaded for monday...i just dread patching though.

Gamestop said on their website the 14th so anyone complaining at this point need to learn to read. You'll get your key and there's no need to rush.

Got it!  Received at 5:19pm.  Went through the process, and now I'm in the queu to download it from Fileplanet....19 ppl ahead of me =)
