Retards you have been brainwashed! Why go play a game like Everquest; why go play a game like WoW? Please tell me!? You do some quest, you gain a level, then you do some more quest, then you gain another level, and dont fear if you die you just run to your sad corpse within 5 min. This ellipse of drooling zombie like behavior is getting out of hand. Dont you want excitement? Dont you want to sit on the edge of you chair, while playing dont you miss that feeling? Look at a game like the old UO where nothing was safe you heart was pounding every time you went outside the city why? Because it was unpredictable and dangerous. What I am asking you is; why do you insist on playing games that only can be described as treadmills? What is it that you find so appealing? I mean; you cant even Pvp in EQ! where is the fun in slaying the same monster over and over`?

Look at In Por Ylem, at all the arses that joined that. Sure, it was old school UO but everyone would gank, kill, and maim without fear of consequence. If you don't like it, Unreal Tournament may be the game you're looking for.

Lovely, a flame about eq2... It just came to my noticed that always when somebody flames eq2 i hear the game 'world of warcraft' mentioned somewhere in his or her sentence.
Most often those flame posts about eq2 ar created by people who ar wow-fanboys.
Why do they flame? to make them feel even better about playing WoW, WoW is just like any other MMORPG pathetic in someways, and the same like any other.
Everquest2 is full of dangerous tasks, missions, as you say UO is really a game were your heart pounds.
It really is the same as with everquest2, You trulhy arent save outside of the gates of your base town.
Many evil dark forces lurk out there to acomplish your dead.
I think you have played this game to short to know what it's really all about; it's just not only about grinding. or quests, as you gain levels you get more abilities. You also upgrade your class at lvl 10, 20. every 2 levels you can choose between some abillities and sometimes get a reward for leveling up.
Only that makes the game already more intresting.
Guild can gain levels as they gain a special item, which they can get by quests. So there level of the guilds get higher and which make sit possible to purchase more and expensiver guild items, horses ar an example. Many MMORPG lack in veriaty when it comes to guild, and eq2 one MMORPG is just doing fine on this point, maybe bestest.
And such a high statement as you just made just needs alot of back-up and i've not seen any back-ups your just comparing it with other games. You ar highlighintg only the weakness of the game, with an incomplete discription.
You just cannot say that very little about this big subject, i can garantuee you most people(including me) wont take you sireus.
@ people who say eq2 graphics ar bad, let me tell you this. Buy a nice processor, mb-ram, video card. And then re-consider if they ar bad or not. Eq2 just demands alot and not your old crappy computer what you could hardly pay with your waiter payment
Mine conclusion: Everquest 2 is trulhy a wonderfull game, graphics only make it worth to play. It may have a little ammount of weakpoints; to much grinding, but i'd realy say its your own decision to grind alot or not you can just pick up a quest do it, and level while questing and also kill monsters when doing the quests.

ill admit your right all the mmo's are bascily the same anymore just set in a differant surrounding. BUT they are however waaay better than games like UO that attract nothing but immature griefers. give me a game with a good PvP(and yes there is a differance beteween PvP and griefing) system and PvE anyday over crap like UO and L2.

You're no doubt right. Uo Pre-trammel, pre T2a was far superior to either of these games. It is true, I am an addict. I was addicted to EQ1 for 5 years and i'm sure I will be addicted to EQ2 until something better comes along. But, the question is: why does it matter? If I am addicted to something MMO-wise, who cares? I like it when i'm addicted, it's actually fun. And, whomever said gaining levels in UO sucked is on crack, gaining skills is one of the highpoints of UO, as it is so easy.

How about this: instead of bashing the game, go and say "This isnt good because *insert reason here*". But it looked to me like you were bashing both games and calling everyone retards because they dont play UO.
Why should there be dire consequences if you die? It's a game, if your heart pounds over being chased by a buncha polygons then something is seriously wrong with your brain
. Nobody really wants heavy consequences for dieing as far as i know. "I want all of my armor and weapons destroyed, my account emptied of all the cyber-money i earned, and my stats reduced to level 1 after all that levelling." I dont think so....
The grind is unavoidable, in any MMO you'll have a grind to prevent people from levelling too fast and to preserve the "fun-factor" of the game. Without the grind, people would all be at the highest level with complete stats and no work at all. It'd be like combat in a paragon world: whoever clicks first wins.
I don't see how simply enjoying a game, makes you brainwashed. Not to say that some raving WoW or EQII fans AREN'T (clearly some are), but those kinds of generalizations never hold up.
In my opinion, its all about personal prefernce. I have a hard time roleplaying in UO anymore, because the immersion factor is just gone. The next generation of games is out, and most players are enjoying them, instead of holding true to the 1st generation.
You like UO, then play UO. How does it matter to you, that anyone else chooses another game?
I'd say, that if you TRULY think it makes someone dumb or brainwashed or whatever by playing WoW or EQII, then you're better off not having them in YOUR game.
It seems that instead of really thinking what you're trying to convey through, you are just here to whine, rant, and name-call.
Very little stock will be put into what you say, that being the case.
I really hope that *insert game name here* will be the first game to ever live up to all of its pre-release promises, maintain a manageable hype level and have a clean release. Just don't expect me to hold my breath.

Now if you're saying these so called "next generation" MMo's are completely lacking in any kind of innovation I completely agree. Nothing is new, and nothing will be until people are willing to accept that carebear games don't hold half the potential that PVP games do. I love EQ, and i'm still sad that I left it, but if EQ had the same PvP system that UO had I would never have left it ( although, that does seem like it would be odd, ha ha). Griefers do suck, but that is not the ONLY thing that the game has to offer. Pvp does not just immediately come down to ONLY griefing. There has yet to be a good PvE/PvP combo to date ( and don't say Daoc or I will slap you!). DnL looks promising but I'm guessing it will just be another Shadowbane, in terms of a letdown. ToA looks decent but I find a huge flaw in perma-death, as your character will only matter short term because you know he has no chance of actually sustaining. I think this market will only see games with true potential in about 10 years, frankly.

First, you should not start a post off by calling every one retards. I know thats a hard concept, but socialy, thats just not polite. Secondly, if can find a game that has any where near the quality of EQ2 but captures the essance of a old school mmo, then do share, I have been trying to find one forever. As for ToA, it's not even fucking out man, get a grip!! Not to mention the graphics engine looks like fucking Quake 1, not even GL Quake!! In the end, unless you can be constructive, don't waste your time and my time with pointing out the obvious lack of mmorpgness in current mmorpgs and lobbing insults at random indavivuals who enjoy quality games like EQ2.

i c....i played Lineage 2 for 6 months and i was brainwashed..why? u ask?? Because the exploration...leveling and playing with people was just extravagant...plus the scenery was breathtaking...
I still play games Like Neverwinter Nights, Elder Scrolls and so forth...but i sill love the idea of interacting with people that MMORPG's bring.
EQ2 loooks promising and might become my next choise in the MMORPG world.
