Change your AION Password (read please)

Hello everyone,
I have been asked to bring you a notice regarding changing your Aion game password some time before release. We have made adjustments to our password system and anyone who has an outdated password once release/headstart arrives, will be unable to log in to the game.
This message applies only to those of you who created your Aion account before 07/29/2009. If you changed your password or created your Aion game account after this date, you are fine and will not need to make any adjustments.
Our password system update will not affect beta access, but the password you are currently using in beta for any Aion accounts created on or before this date will no longer work once the game goes live for the Head Start event/official launch.
The fix is simple! Please go through the process of changing your Aion game account password at your earliest convenience. You can even change it to the same password you are currently using.

Yeah neither did I, until a legion member brought it up. I thought it was a scam but it is legit. But it is kinda stupid that they are doing that.. but whatever.

Get very angry.

So I end with something like AbraCadabra3000$ that i will *never* remenber, so I have to have it on text file as CLEAN TEXT.
I want to kill these people that know nothing about real safety, and impose stupid convulated rules for passwords.

The OP was being good/nice/kind... giving people a heads up. And you come in to whine... Jesus... what the hell is with the community here? Now I know why I usually stay FAR away from forums (and believe me... when the game is launched I will be)

On July 29, 2009, we made updates to our Aion account system, and at that same time, launched accounts ready for the live game. If you are a current closed beta participant, you should update your password to ready your account for the live version of Aion.
The solution is simple!
1. Log in to your NCsoft Master Account.
2. Click Game Accounts.
3. Select your Aion game account.
4. Click Change Password link in the Actions section, and follow directions to update your password.
If you wish, you can input the same password as the one you used previously. If you are an Aion closed beta tester, but created your Aion beta account after July 29, 2009, no action is needed, as your account is already prepared.
Once you follow these instructions, you should be ready for launch and for a bright future in the world of Atreia. See you there!"

For those upset with not being able to use your normal PW
So if we need to "change it" but not actually change it, then whats the point of changing it at all?

It's no scam, if you go to your NC acocunt page you'll see the link if you created your account prior to 7/27
Once in your Aion account management, you'll see a big box in the middle that says "Has my password been updated for Aion™ launch?" and an answer below that. If the answer is "no" then steps to correct it will be provided right there.
And it's not to "change" it... it's to update it.
anyone else unable to login after updating your password? I get invalid name or password when i try to login.
Can't say since I am not done downloading it yet. But I know in the past, whenever I've changed an NC password, it's taken a bit of time to update. So hopefully it's just a matter of waiting a few more minutes.
I had a beta preview account from June I think... but never used it. Just preordered today and went to upgrade my account and saw the PW update confirmation message that the OP was referring to here.
