Im getting EQ2 tomorrow, and I am really excitied. I never played EQ1 and I was wondering if anyone knows any sites where I can read up on the lore/background of the story/game? I want to jump in knowing pretty much what happened so I understand what's going on like I should.
Thanks
also - don't worry that I'm a 14 year old joining EQ2. I'm not a "1337 dud3" I just want to play the game seriously like everyone else.

I've been tryin to find the same thing, I read the lore at everquest2.com, and its a neat story, but it doesn't really help that much.
I've been trying to read the eq2 forums as well, and haven't had much luck. I'll email you anything I find to your mmorpg.com account!
More than likely, the best way to learn about the story is to jump into the game and start learning!
If you find anything, however, feel free to forward it to me. It'd be appreciated!
I really hope that *insert game name here* will be the first game to ever live up to all of its pre-release promises, maintain a manageable hype level and have a clean release. Just don't expect me to hold my breath.
you know of anywhere it can be downloaded? is it the trailer on the eq2 website?

don't know
last minute question, dont wanna make a new post:
how does the EXP system work?
is it like FFXI where u can only ever get a maximum of 200exp from a mob without chaining, or is it like L2 where higher level mobs give u more exp.
thx

EQ2 is built on mystery and discovering it for yourself.
There's no XP amount listed when you kill stuff, and the amount can change based on who else you might be grouped with, the level of the mob, and other stuff.
They do their best to prevent min/maxers from squeezing all the joy out of the game from the beginning. You'll have to wait till a few hundred people have parsed things to min/max.
My advice is to start exploring and questing, do a little tradeskilling, make some friends, and have fun.
