    I´ll say that the best race Half elf! I don´t know why it´s just course of they are cool! :D

    all the races are so balanced it's hard to tell!

    I've seen things from Ogre and Troll inquisitors (cleric's) to half elf warriors!

    There is no best race...there is only ur favourite race wich in my case is dark elf.

    The races have become nothing more than how you want your character to look in game.  Since you can choose a alignment specific race and betray, it really doesn't matter which race you choose for any class you choose.


    Fact: In the United States, 4% of all children are born with a heart defect.
    Fact: Only 1% of those has Ebstein's Anomaly.
    Fact: My daughter is in that 1%.

    All races in all mmorpgs [except maybe AO] balance out in the end so you can make any race on any class but they are pretty much all the same. My favorate class to look at and play with is the Ratonga. Love the rats. I played Skaven in Warhammer tabletop so you can imagine my love of man rats with attitude.

    Actually it does matter somewhat. There is a big diff bewtween a dark elf fighter and an ogre fighter. You can bea darl elf fighter but u will have a hard time in the game, but it is doable. The same goes if you want to create a mage troll, ogre. You can do it, but they wont be as good(strong) characters.

    Yeah race does matter some. I saw a ratonga warrior the other day haha. That's just a bad idea. Personally I play a Kerra and they make very nice assassins. So, my vote goes for the Kerra.

    Yea, I guess you're right, but in the "end game" they are the same.  The reason being, you can obtain equiptment that will push your stats to the cap for any of the classes.  So although you start with a lower Strength as a Dark Elf than an Ogre, it will be possible to get equiptment to raise your Strength to a point which you get the same bonus's as an Ogre.  Note, your strength will not be the same as the Ogre, but it will push it high enough to reach the maximum bonuses for that class.

    I believe a dev posted about this sometime before launch.  I'll see if I can track down that post.

    Races are chosen based on how you like them, not what they're good at. By level 20, your race will essentially be equal to all others (or almost). Therefore, pick what you find looks coolest, or odd, based on your class.

    Choosing class is 100,000 times more important.

    Personally, I chose enchanter. I thought gnomes make cool enchanters, so I went with a gnome image

    Erudites (IMO) are the best mages.  I love em.  But I do and don't agree that in end game it doesn't matter.  I think that what matters more is the fact that you know how to play your toon.  I saw a Gnome pally tank and hold agro better then a Dwarf pally.  It's all about how well you know how to play your toon.  Anyone can be the best race/combo even a Orge Summoner.  Just learn your char as well as you can.

     

    And don't be so quick to judge a Orge Summoner just because it doesn't make sense to you.  Maybe they are a better summoner then you and are just out prove a point.

    EQ 2 did a wonderful job in balancing all the races, so the choice is really up to how you want to look. I will say, IMHO, that ogre warrior have the best intimidating look to them. High Elves just look a little too effeminate to be vicious warrior.

    I agree with Bukgrim and anyone else that views it that way..but I think maybe not the best but the coolest race is the Kerra.. tho i hate how they sound when they jump.

    I say the best race overall are humans

    They're work well with all archtypes
