I hate ppl who say everquest 2 is crap just coz hey cant run it on their friggin hopeless comps. Others say that EQ 2 is crap just coz wow is better. Well i've played a beta version of both EQ 2 n WoW but personally i think they are both really good games but i prefer EQ2.
btw am getting a comp with an intel 4 3gig processor, a 1024 meg of ddr sram, geforce fx 5200 256mb g-card. Will i be able to run it on a good graphics setting without lag?

People don't seem to realize that having an engine that requires top of the line equipment to run it at it's max settings is a good problem to have. Especially if you like the game and plan on playing it for a couple of years. The game looks great on even the performance settings and once you finally can afford to upgrade your compy into something better, the game will only improve graphically with you, instead of being left behind visually like so many MMO's are right now.
Graphics do not make the game, but if you already like the game, graphics sure do make it a whole lot better.

I hate people like you, sorry i just do. 5200 might not run eq2 great, but its fine if you have no $$$.
A gig of ram with at LEAST a 9800 pro? You make me sick
BTW a fx 5200 is fine, just run gfx on low settings, minimum looks terrible.
I got a 9800pro 512 mb and 800mhz..... in some places i can run the graphics high.. but i better turn em off if plan on entering qeynos... TO say that i dont know if a lower graphic card will work or not but hey, im running the game on a p3.. how low can I get. Anyways even if a fx5200 isnt good for Eq2, when u gets the money to upgrade to a better video card, it'll be exciting tho finally see what your character looks now. So I say if it runs with a 5200 dont stop playing... lvl up like crazy, then buy the higher video card, you wont regret it . Cheers

let me tell u something about WoW.
i got this bullshit and there is nothing fun about it.
alright i agreed its fun when u play for 2-3 week but after its crap
ppl who say its fun its only because they dont know what is a real good mmorpg
when u hit lvl 60 what can u do next ? nothing
and guild is crap to, u cant own something ( village , castle whatever..) so what a guild is for ???
ok there is guild wars but gl if u try to make 1 its really hard there is no organisation for this.
so i think WoW suck
a good mmorpg its not only about how graphic and environment is made
u can have a mmorpg req a fuckin 32m video card and it can be better then WoW
JE
i dont know what is your computer but me i got
2.8 processor
128m geforce video card
512mram
if u got around that it should run well
lol stoping you
a geforce its better then radeon ( ati video card )
on the market geforce cost alot more then ati
the computer u getting gonna run like hell
i dont think u can get better then this
i got EQ2 earlier today and im loving it. i have a 9600xt and i can run it at balanced with some nice effects turned on like a bunch of watter and high quality lighting and im having 0 lag....anywhere
-Nihilanth- aka Wolfenstein

WoW you hate from a single post??? Whatever
Btw low settings on eq2 look really really bad. You obviously havent played the game for you to recommend that any 1 play it at low settings.
What he said is true. The minimum setting looks terrible, but the other settings on the low end look quite good. The FX5200 should be fine. I am running a 2.4 with 1 gig and a 4200ti with only 64 megs and the game runs quite well. I get more lag than I would like in crowded city zones, but not terrible really. I will upgrade one of these days, but for now it's fine.
I played it with an ATI 9200 and had 0 lag and had almost all the bells and whistles on. ATI 9200 does fine the big thing is really RAM. You need at least 1 gig of ram to play the game without lag.
Make a difference!
Get a better vid card and take a hit in the processor. I.E a 9800 pro, and less than 3ghz intel, whatever makes the price difference
i cant change the processor speed because the computer is fully made with it + cant customize. I'll go for a geforce 5700 atm and then save up for a 9800 pro
Lol a 5200 in a 3ghz system. When will people ever learn.
That's like running a 6800 ULTRA Extreme in a 1ghz AMD Duron.
Sorry but with graphics card EQ2 will look like EQ1.
2.6ghz AMD 64
1 gig RAM
6800 ULTRA @450/1200
EQ2 still soesn't run nowhere where i want it. the shadows that look like shadows in any other game kill your FPS. Therefore you have to play without shadows wich makes the game look very unrealistic.
I love the game but the engine is complete pants.
