I think the Patcher is fixed......

I uninstalled Champions, re-installed from the Fileplanet file. Before I had a chance to move any of the .hogg files around I watched the patcher in dis-belief as it jumped from 0% to 35% in about 2 mins. As I'm typing this right now it's at 53.8%. It says it has patched 1.9 GB or so and also says it has only received 15 MB of actual downloaded data. The patcher is moving a bit more slowly now that its patched the first 2GB or so but that is to be expected with the last GB I need to actually download. Basically it appears their pointers were off and they finally correct the file pointers so it sees the correct .hogg files without you needing to actually move them. I'm sure everyone will be much happier as I am now. Now at 54%, looks like it is going to work. Holding my breath though.

you got it, still downloading, hasn't froze but I"m still at 54% until it applies the current chunk it is downloading. Its literally doing maybe 6MB a minute at best. So what's that 360MB an hour? At this rate I have 3-4 more hours to go.
I keep getting an error 14 disconnect but the last time I tried patching I made it to 47 percent. its still not fixed though.
like I said I"m holding my breath, we will see. There is a guy with a new supposed fix where you only have to download 71MB, I may give his a try. He said he's already up and running with the game. But it requires you download the updated Fileplanet client file.
yea im currently 114 in line for the new fileplanet client... /sigh

At the link above from the champions forums they claim that you just need to let the patcher... patch! Just be patient and it will go through. It has worked for me and 3 others that I know irl. GL!

sadly i most have the file from before 12pm (3pm where i live). So my plan atm is to get the new client (52!) and drink myself into a stupor where I wont care nymre.
I don't understand this whole "let the patcher patch" advice. I, along with many others, simply can't do this because the patcher sucks. Yes, we know it's slow, but the problem is that it disconnects. Every time it disconnects, alot of what I just tried patching simply poofs.
Well, just my experience...DL'd the FP "new" client and "let the patcher patch"...now sitting at 98.6 % downloaded...that's from a recent "12% downloaded" check.
FYI, I intitially did the move of files that Xcalibur notes in this forum (Titled: Do NOT follow the Cryptic workaround) but since I DL'd the new FP client, I haven't done any file fixing/swapping etc...

When I want a single-player story, I'll play a single-player game. When I play an MMO, I want a massively multiplayer world.
oh FFS. Im currently downloading the fileplanet new client....and it's looping and starting me from 0% downloaded every second or 2....All while dling @ 1.4mbps. /supersigh
How long did it take though? Overnight? Here I am however long later from my first post and have only gotten up to 115MB downloaded with many more to go. It's working but it's extremely slow.
I'm now 83 of 282 on the Fileplanet wait list and my wait time has gone from 30 mins, to 126 mins, to 202 mins, now at 332 minutes? How do you get closer in the queue and longer in wait time?

This morning a little after the same time I started the CO patcher I also started Fileplanet's newer version of CO. FP said I had a 30 minute wait...from a little after 10 this morning until 4 this afternoon. 30 minutes. Guess their clock estimater is a bit off.
Anyway installed the new version and so far: 3 (null) crashes, 4x Error 14 (disconnects). I spammed the patch server and finally got through. So the latest version took about 2 hours worth of patching. I gave up on the original version that was unlocked this version at it required a 3.6 GB patch.
Anyway it said I was at 39% with 3.5 GB downloaded. Not sure how this is saving data (originally it was a 3.6 Gb total)...but it was faster.
2 hours later now I'm at 99%. Unfortunately, it's been 99% for the past 15 minutes...which is exactly where my friend was when it hung and disconnected her. She started it up again...and it is making her do the ENTIRE PATCH over.
So I'd say it's working..sort of...just keep restarting over and over when it crashes. Eventually it may finish. Course I won't be able to test it for a week now (today was my only chance as I had the day off).

Update 99% : Error 14: connection to the server was lost.
Starting over...
I just downloading the new one from fileplanet. Took me around 45 minutes. I was getting 700-900kbs per second. Of coarse I am a paying member to fileplanet so that is probably why it was so fast for me.
If you like to beta test you should become a paying member of fileplanet.

finally snapped n paid the 6 bucks for fileplanet.....conveniently the download is perfect...sigh...@ least i get to try fallen earth
i was just bitter about the whole situation and pointing out how retarded that was. i understand the whole paying member thing and feel a bit stupid now after making those comments but they weren't in that context. I just thought it was funny that as I got closer in the queue time went up. I was a member for quite some time and know the advantages, too bad I'm not anymore. Almost done downloading the new client and I"m going to overwrite it to the 71mb point like a few people have done who are supposedly up and playing now. we will see, g'luck to everyone.
btemplar, perfect as in downloading the client or perfect while downloading via patcher? i think your saying the client download was perfect eh? I think you're getting my hopes up, lol.
