It looks like you're new here. If you want to get involved, click one of these buttons!
Okay when you start the patcher, press X.
It'll come up with a list of the file parts you're trying to download. In the lower right hand corner of that window, it'll say server = whatever. Keep restarting the patcher and bringin up that window until it says server = 174.XXX.XXX.XXX (the Xs are just other numbers, but the 174 is the important part).
This 174 server seems to be new, and seems to be working quickly and reliably for me. This may help you guys get through faster.

On a 174 server and slow as molasses.
If it slows or freezes, just restart and try to get back to that server. Seems to be working for me, got 100mb down in the last 30 mins.

7th time restarting and I'm still on 208? It's always interesting how my files seem to stall when they're 95%+ complete. No wonder I'm not making any progress..
I'm disappointed with this thread. I was sure the op was going to mention something about hamsters and/or duct tape in his solution, but nooooooo. All this talk of "IP's" and 174, and patchers.
What we need is a real solution, darn it! Bring on the hamsters!
(Although, I will give this "174" witchcraft a try. Desperate times...)
I'm just waiting for a F2P overhyped sandbox WoW clone with full PVP, epic raid bosses, instanced group content, and Crysis-quality graphics to come out. That, or something fun.
Patcher is sitting on "Trying to update the launcher" for a long time on restart.
Also having to restart due to GameClient.exe being the only file in the download list and having it loop.
This. Even afterwards, it won't start patching though. It just hangs. This is complete and utter failiure. I'm done for today.
Yeah gameclient.exe is one of the files that people are getting truely and well stuck on. The devs are looking into that as well.
Although I did hear if you ductape two hamsters together (facing opposite directions) and then place them in a clean wok, and then connect that to your router, it'll speed up the download. You should see something like this

Crazy.... suddenly it is downloading at around 500mb/s. I'm not going to tell you what we had to do with that duct tape to get it working properly, though. It was too gruesome.
