All in All.. Wonderful polished beta. Great game.

I am a level 19 Templar and I have finished my first experience with Aion and all in all I was very very impressed. Although I have to admit I didnt expect it to be bad at all, hearing all the hype from Asia and what not, us getting their already updated game. The smoothest running beta I have EVER played. Great and fun interactions, of course the basic levels were like any other MMO, just the plain combat with a tunnel to the light with a hand to hold. But after the basics turned out to be very open and widely explorable and interactive.. Gathering was very nicely put together which any class can do. Picking what quests to take and where was nice, and grouping quests in the late teens were also fun and exciting, with also being moderatly tough. (Which I loved the challenge!) XP grind with quests gradually getting harder and harder which was another benefit because I would hate to be top level in a week and be done with the game (Quests wise). I think other players will agree with me in saying that this game was very above average for a closed beta and very exciting to play. Mixed many MMO's from the past and put new spin on them with better/more new experiences! All in All great job NCsoft! Waiting patiently for open beta and launch, and will be ready to play when it is!.

Please if you played the closed beta just give the brief..

1. Your favorite thing about Aion.

2. How successful you think this game will be?

3.  Your Class and the level you got to in beta.

Looking forward to see what all you others thought about the game and how it will fair!

     Agree completely with you :D

    awesome game!

really enjoyed all the questing, and the graphics. cant wait to try out the PVP as i only had an 18 ranger.

but yes all in all very very happy with, i already showed it to my friends and girlfriend and they re all getting it :)

the one thing that annoyed me was the voice my char had, he made a high pitched bruce lee sound every time he attacked.

gets very annoying after a while, (and the way the scout stands... that really has to change... all the scout know what im talking about... yep.... has to change)

I agree also, I must admit I always had it in my head that this game looked crap and was just another run of the mill mmo. But the beta completely changed my view on the game, it didn't have any really ground breaking features and wasn't a huge leap in mmo's by any stretch but there was something about it that kept me coming back for more. It felt like going back to when i was an old WoW addict...I couldn't tear myself away. I think it was just the environments and the atmosphere the game created that really made it an enjoyable experience.

But all in all the game has really grown on me, the smoothest beta i've had the pleasure of testing to date. No lag no performace issues, so I'm very pleased with how the game has panned out, and i never thought I would ever see myself say this but I think I might just be pre-ordering.

I only had time to get to lvl 10 on the beta after only getting my key a few days before the beta closed, but it was good nonetheless.

I made it to level 20 as a cleric and really enjoyed the game play and my class.  The OP is correct as this has been one of the more polished betas I have participated in.

There is so much to like, to name a few. I like the  way  crafting is done as a whole and exp gained from it. I really like the main story line so far. Also the way you can make you characters look

    2. How successful you think this game will be?

It has what it takes to be very sucessfull, if it will or not i guess is up to the marketing team.

    3. Your Class and the level you got to in beta.

I leveled most classes to about 13 and the Assassin to 19

I completely agree with the OP. Awesome game! I had a ton of fun this past weekend and really enjoyed a lot of different aspects of the game.

    1. Your favorite thing about Aion.

There's a lot to love about it. The atmosphere is amazing. The little details. The fact that as a mage, each spellbook that I got and equipped had a different appearance on my character. The fact that I was able to pre-buy my spells and have them on my person for later when I dinged (brought me back to my EQ1 launch days). I love the areas and the mobs. I love the story. The cutscenes are amazingly done. The crafting. I love that they've added to the combat of most mmorpgs (not quite as interactive as AoC, but much better than most imo) with directional movement bonuses and penalties as well as how they've implemented their combo chains. The music is amazing! Xp's for gathering! Add to all of this the Camelot style RvR (only better from everything I've heard.) with the third realm being unpredictible, and I am one happy camper. (I have not experienced the RvR myself yet, so this part I am going on everything I;ve heard, good and bad)

    2. How successful you think this game will be?

Very. I don't think NC will have any worries about the western subscriptions for this game... it's going to do extremely well.

    3. Your Class and the level you got to in beta.

I played a Spiritmaster to 18 and an Assassin to 16. I missed Friday and the majority of Saturday as i didn't preorder until Sat night.

    What I saw, I loved.

    1. Your favorite thing about Aion.

The atmosphere, my guild I participated within the beta was great and it was a lot of fun all around. I love how this game is polished and is equiped with such a rewarding PvP system in which everyone doesn't have to participate in.

    2. How successful you think this game will be?

Very successful, but I will be surprised if it will hit 1 million subs in the west. If it reaches past that it will be due to word of mouth and a few things would have to happen to WoW for a mass exodus from the game. I don't believe WoW will be defeated simply by another game since there are people in WoW who love the game and won't even step outside the box to venture and see if something might be better. If anything I'm expecting 300-500k subs and the subs will continue to grow gradually as more people hear about Aion.

    3. Your Class and the level you got to in beta.

    Level 30 Elyos Assassin.

I made it to 20 as a Spiritmaster in CB5 and the same level Sorcerer in CB6.  I spent a lot of time crafting in this last Beta, not wanting to get tired of the game before it even came out.

I think this game has the potential to have a very large subscriber base.  Everyone I know is going to try it and since it is so extremely polished, I believe they will be staying for a while.

The character models and voices will be changed before launch.  There is a great new NA Aion trailer and at the end you can see some of the changes they have made to the character models.

I will skip open Beta because of the one flaw in the game.  There is only one starting area per race and leveling to 10 can get boring, but is over with quickly.  I don't want to burn out.  On the other hand, will I actually be able to keep myself away from it?

    We'll see!  :)

Why because all the pretty text words and cut scenes are all just in the way of you reaching the next level?  Sorry that's a really sorry perception of a really great game and yes I've played them all just about.  I'm probably going to post an in-depth review here soon especially to quell all the "WoW" fanbois, and don't get me wrong I was a prominent player in World of Warcraft but Aion truly has the foundation of a really remarkable game.

Shsss... you are making too much sense! The WoW fanboys will be livid ;)

    /sarcasm off

Great post - I agree with you fully... Aion definitely has the makings for a remarkable game... let the Grind/cryers keep playing WOTLK (can't even call it WoW anymore) and be done with it... no point feeding the trolls
