To much PVP action going on for me to count the pages. I would guess that the clan population has nearly doubled since my last post, and it shows.
Get out of newb towns and into a clan if you want to see action.

Of course, Adventure Time wasn't smart enough to figure out a system that doesn't count characters from canceled accounts so these numbers are meaningless.
Well, one of our clan members who quit the game is no longer listed on our clan roster. If I get bored enough I will do an actual count of the numbers showing for clans. 12 pages on a non-adjustable webpage is painful. I need to figure out how to get to that webpage from outside the game.

Just means they quit the clan before quitting the game.
if you take the average, thats only 5200 players total in clans. not much more then 5003 or whatever it was last time someone did the count. Thats a very low population base for a game, when mabye 25% are going to be online concurrently. especially a pvp game.

And yes, that actually is the case lol. Cancled accounts aren't removed from the list. If I remember correctly clans have to manually purge inactive members. This was a problem we have had since the beggining. The clan I was in had several people make chars join and change chars a few times. All were in the clan list even after they quit the game lol. This is unless there was some new change that no one has heard about or talked about yet.

But it isn't a guess. This finding correlates exactly with X-Fire statistics.
Exactly how much "proof" does one need?

hahahahaa OMG lol this is funny. i can't stop laughing
Thats on average 20 players per clan.
Especially if we are to believe Aventurine's capabilities for the server(s).
Each server is supposed to be capable of 10,000 concurrent players and 30,000 to 50,000 accounts. Now I don't really believe Aventurine's claims, as it was shown on EU-1 that numbers nowhere near those amounts made the game nigh unplayable.
But, that is mostly irrelevant to this discussion.
The numbers Zeno has given...
If we take the average: 13 pages x 400 players = 5,200
If we average each clan @ 25 members: 241 clans x 25 players = 6,025
Let's use a number between those two. That should be pretty close without Zeno doing an actual count.
So, let's go with 5,625 players in clans. Remember this number includes all players that have not been actively removed from the clan as well. So, obviously the number is going to be on the high side... but we'll give DarkFall that excess to make sure everyone is counted.
So, then what number is not in clans? We know from EU-1 that as the server ages more and more players join clans. At the last count we put the number equal to those in clans, since the server was fairly new. The number now is most likely less than half that. But let's go with 75% of those that are in clans... that would be more than generous.
So...
Clanned players = 5,625
Unclanned players = 4,219
Total maximum accounts on NA = 9,844
Now that we have an approximate total number of accounts. (A very generous one at that). How many of those are on and actively playing at any given moment?
The average is usually 10%, but let's be generous again and say 25%.
So, we come up with 2,461.
That would be my very generous guess for the concurrent population of DarkFall NA server: 2,000 - 3,000
My real guess would put it at half that amount, but I don't have a problem with those who may want to use the higher numbers. Those would seem to be the absolute max. numbers though... anything higher would be just pure fantasy.
Yeah can't forget about transfers, you know a great deal of the NA players on the NA server are counted twice, as playing on NA and EU servers since they purchased and created chars on both servers. Then you have the EU server which is going to lose many considering most of the EU server player base was comprised of NA players.
Advertising? A banner on a MMORPG site is advertising?
When you actually advertise you don't just try to sell to your existing customer base, you go for outsiders. The car companies run ads on Network TV to attract attention across the spectrum, they don't just put banners in a car magazine that is only delivered to their current customers.
All I have see from DnF is a banner ad on here now and then. Hell this has to be the worst place to advertise the game since anyone that is the least bit interested can read all about this fiasco before they decide.
I have yet to see an ad at the local Gamestop, hear one on radio, see one on TV, see one in my local paper or USA Today. Nope no advertising in the classic sense. Of course we all know that Av does nothing like anyone else since they are the smartest game devs in the history of the world.
Cool story bra, gray you are one of those people I am refering to in the thread above your reply.
The only thing that will kill DF are the moronic devs, who can't ever fix a lightbulb.
I love DF, but the simple issues/bugs/exploits that have not been fixed are AV all the day, Hopefully they get bought out by someone who know how to code and continue the dream DF was suppose to be, til then it is just a waiting game, when a better mmorpg with FPS or not comes out and is very pvp orientated(FE might be that game if they make a PVP server and add in housing) then I will stick to DF, unless that make me pay 50 dollars for a transfer to NA fee.
I am not sure which thread you are reffering to I see a few posts above my reply but no threads, but in any case it matters not.
Are you saying many players on the NA server did not have EU accounts previously and are you saying that they have finally fixed the fact that you are still showing in the system even if your chars been deleted and account canceled?
And yes, the Devs are whats going to kill the game if it indeed does die. Many come here hoping they took there meds finally or something and get there heads straight and fix the game so that many of us may return.

No that can't be true or player numbers counted from the clan page would be always going up but they don't, so someone is getting their wires crossed here.

it is true and has been verified by players several times. The only way ex-players or deleted characters get purged from the clan lists is manually. Some clans are much better about purging their members than others.
Regardless, the reason you're not seeing the clan numbers continue to climb is because new players aren't joining the game and clans at a very fast pace. In fact, a month after launch AND with the store open 24/7, the clan count hasn't even reached the peak I saw on the EU server 3 months after launch and with a closed-shop. And 3 months after launch was well after the game had peaked...

p.s. One caveat is that many players might still be in their first billing cycle from the launch, seeing as how the launch is barely a month old. Those players who bought in the first couple of days have probably completed their 'free' month, but many others probably havent'. As such, the clan count probably doesn't include many ex-players at this time.

I will say this, some of your larger clans are likely to purge inactive members on a regular basis since the whole Hyperion thing. The last thing many alliances/clans want since then are to be considered larger than they really are lol. The largest alliance at the time tends to get a neon bullseye painted on there rears.

After your post I asked my clan leader to check the roster and he said that all our listed players are active players. Are you sure those players you are referring to were real players? Like, did you contact them ingame?

They were real, well-known players on the official boards. It wasn't just isolated players that confirmed it, but a multitude of players. That being said, however, it was in May, so I don't know whether or not Aventurine's clan mechanics have changed. I'm inclined to think they haven't, after all, an ex-player might come back in a month or two and want to pick up right where he or she left off.
In your case, if you're on the NA serverf, you probably don't have any ex-players, since they may be in their first billing cycle.

I was one that confirmed it among many many many others. My name is the same here as it is on the official forums. I was in Hyperion and Shimmergloom. My name was Valos Othren for my human and Gray Ghost for my Alfar. Look up my name there and my post history. My Youtube name is ValosOthren and has some of my beta vids for Alberworth tours and our progression. Hard to say I wasn't a real player lol. One of Hyperions downfalls was actually the fact that after many had quit DFO they were still listed in our roster, which sucked for Hyperion considering after they left they were still being counted and used against hyperion making them look much larger than they were. I deleted my char and created an Alfar when I was ready to leave Hyperion and my char was still listed for a good while until it was manual removed. CotC had similar issues with there size being larger than its active player numbers and had to manually purge there inactive members on a regular basis to keep themselves from being targeted sooner than they were lol.
