New player need help on newb island

SotoSoto Member UncommonPosts: 177

Hello

My shaman is level 11 and doing fine...so far. Now, it seems like he finished all the quest in the three villages but two.

The first is the doll quest(making a doll): He ask me am i sure I want to learn tailoring...why would I not? Can not we learn all tradeskills?

Next lost mission is the emissary(spelling): Need to follow the npc back to safety. Where is this npc? I looked all over.

Demon's Beach...is there more then 1 quest for this place..from newb island?

So, as you can see my character does not have much left to do on the island...unless missing something.

I really want to try battlegrounds, but being on island not going to happen.

thx

the sword of no sword...

BGs become interesting with 20 or so in earlier BGs there aren't that many people running around. As for the newbie Island, you don't need to fnish all quests, unless you want to. The big eviil world out there offers you tons to discover too, around level 11 I think as well. You get some nice rewards from a few quests.

    1. You have two types of crafting. The first is basic crafting. You can do all of the trade skills to a very low level of proficiency. If you want, you can pick a specific tradeskill to get advanced proficiency so you can make higher level items. It used to be that you could only have one tradeskill per character. I am 95% sure that has been changed and one character can now learn all the tradeskills. The pop-up warning is probably before that was added. You can just use the basic crafting skills to make that doll to complete the quest.

    2. I have no idea where the NPC is. Look at your map and see if you can find the red dot. Those mark your quests. Go to the red dots and look in the area to see if you can find the NPC you are looking for.

    3. I think there is only one quest for Demon's Breach on the island. However, the island is not the only starting zone. A "tutorial" was added that included a new starting zone. The original starting zones are still in the game. I believe there were some additional quests for Demon's Breach there, but I might be wrong.

    4. It is doubtful that there the battlegrounds are active at your level. You have access to two from Demon's Breach but you are too high of a level. Once you leave the island you can talk to NPC that can send you to the BG. You probably will need to get to 20 to see any action, but you might find some before then.

1 - Actually, every character you create automatically has access to all of the tradeskills nowadays.  "Basic Crafting" is garbage.  Pretend it's not even on your tradeskills list.  Sure, it'll allow you to make some low level items, but really, why waste the time and money on that, only to get cut off at level X skill, when you could be spending the time and money on the real craft and be able to go higher later?

I'm a Legendary Grandmaster of EVERY craft on my main character on the Bossiney cluster.  There isn't anything I couldn't tell you about crafting (and quite a few things I could probably tell the people that think they know everything about crafting).

2 - The emmisary mission: Read your journal.  It'll tell you to go to a specific NPC and talk to them to begin the emmisary mission.  (Some guy on a porch gives you the quest, I believe.  Talk to him again to tell him you're ready to escort the emissary.  The Emmisary appears/spawns inside the building he's on the porch of, next to the valkyrie trainer, fi I recall correctly.  I haven't played Midgard in years because it's so easy mode it makes me vomit.)

3 - There are actually 2 quests that take you into Demon's Breach from the tutorial island.  The first is to kill 2 very low level named monsters in there, I believe it's a skeleton and a dog or two skeletons; I forget, because as I said, i haven't played Mid in ages.  The second quest is to kill a level 7-8 named monster (a spiritmaster for Mids, a necromancer for Albs, a Druid for Hibs) that's down the first hall to the right after you past the portal guardians at the bottom of the huge steps inside Demon's Breach.

4 - Back near the teleporter, Skald/hastener, and bind stone (actually a bit more toward the bridge you cross in that area) is a channeler that will get you out of that area, and into the mainland zone "Vale of Mularn", near another bind stone.  You can pick up your adventuring there, and/or head into Jordheim nearby to see your class trainer, buy equipment, interact with other players, and even teleport to the battlegrounds (with no lame ass waiting queue like World of  Warcrap or Wowhammer online have).
