Are the only sandbox MMOs out/coming out Darkfall, Mortal, Fallen Earth, and Earthrise?

I have never played SWG pre-CU but I am always amazed at how much depth it had with player run towns and non instanced housing as well as level-less character progression. I bought Darkfall back in Feb when it came out and was not too pleased...mainly it felt like Oblivion on the PS1. I was thinking of trying Mortal but I've heard nothing but bad things about trying to aquire the game, as well as it just being Darkfall with a better engine. Fallen Earth and Earthrise seem like they are going to be more FPS oriented and I'd really like to play something more RP/third person.

Anyway, are there more sandbox MMOs coming out, or is there one I've overlooked I should check out? I'd like to play an MMO where I feel I am actually part of a living breathing persistant world. Good crafting, player housing/land owning system, and a decent combat system are all what I desire.

You should try Darkfall again, the dev's have done a ton of updates to the game, added player housing that can't be taken away (if you pay your taxes) and more ways to travel around the world.  Skill gain is now quickened as well.

A few of the things done can be found here: http://www.darkfallonline.com/expansion/

Website has been updated as well: http://www.darkfallonline.com/index.html

The definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over expecting different results.

I think you got them all. I can't think of any others coming out soon.

Earthrise doesn't interest me at all. Mortal Online -- I'm starting to hear awful things about it so I'm taking a wait and see attitude. I have a love/hate relationship with Darkfall and right now I'm in my hate phase so I'm un-sub'd. That leaves Fallen Earth, which I played in the closed beta and wound up pre-ordering. So far, I'm really liking it.

I don't know about Earthrise, but the other three have FPS style targeting/combat systems. Personally, I like that better than the mindless Tab-AutoTarget-Keypress form of combat you find in most MMOs.

Darfkall has good crafting, housing, and a nice combat system. Fallen Earth has great crafting (IMO), excellent combat, but no housing (yet!). From what I can gather Mortal Online doesn't have much of anything to since its so unfinished. Earthrise? I have no idea since I'm not following that game.

That's pretty much all I know at this point.

I agree about Fallen Earth, it's a plesant surprize. I heard quite a lot of bad stuff but I really enjoy it.

Dawntide is another Sandbox MMO coming out, it's currently in closed beta. I'm in the beta and loving it, there's no NDA either, so if you've got questions, ask away.

Mortal Online is currently in closed beta, and the developers have stated that they will be implementing features which it has already finished systematically.  People say bad things about MO if they haven't actually read the forums.  SV is being very upfront about everything and has answers to every question.  The closed beta currently is not even close to the amount of content that there will be at release, so anyone who judges based on it is stupid.

I wasn't a big fan of Fallen Earth, Darkfall is Darkfall (bad), and I don't really know much about Earthrise.  I am unaware of any other major sandbox games being developed but I would love a well-funded one.

There is the one that can't be named on this site, but when and how well it will run is up in the air.

Although Earthrise does have manual targetting (you have to aim), it looks like it will still be more oriented towards an RPG rather than a purely twitch based game. It also has territory control mechanic where guild fight over and conquer territories to gain access to crafting resources. And the crafting system itself is supposed to be very in depth. Some good links in this thread.

I don't know if you've ever tried it out, but from what I understand the guys in charge of Ryzom now are making a lot of effort to improve the game.  It wasn't my cup of tea, but it fits your description on a few levels.
