Well, what would be one? I tried Rappelz, but it's boring, unpolished, and repetitive. I'm not looking for anything amazing, just something that isn't a WoW clone and is decent to play. I'm only going to be playing it for a month. So, what's your call?

Try Dragonica, the open beta for it just opened, and it's free. It'll be f2p when it launches as well. I'm playing it as well as the CO open beta, and it's a great game. Very arcade style, with cutsey anime-ish like graphics.
Thanks for the suggestion, I'll check it out!
Both the Chronicles of Spellborn and Dungeons and Dragons Online have gone F2P. Both are really nice at the price. Especially for just looking for some fun times.
spellborn.acclaim.com
ddo.com
I'll try D&D, but CoS is dead. I used to play it.
D&D isn't free till September 9th, so it's useless.
Atlantica Online is a pretty awesome. You could get some fun out of it in a month. Pretty graphics, crafting, mounts, player driven economy/market place, turn based battle system with a party of mercenaries (very fun).
I used to play Perfect World. Nice character customization, flying with wings, flying mounts/swords, beast race/class with beast summon and ability to turn into either a fox or tiger. Pretty general MMO, but fun.
Runes of Magic is more current game I'm playing. Lots of people are calling it a WoW clone, but it's debatable. Crafting, mounts, dual-class system, etc. I'm enjoying it so far.The graphics are great for free to play.
NeoSteam looked interesting, haven't played it.
Chronicles of Spellborn recently went F2P. Haven't tried it yet.
Combat Arms is a great free to play online shooter if you just want to mindlessly kill time.
I logged in TCoS today when it went F2P, and there were tons of people running around playing it. I was pretty shocked because I remember it being a ghost town.
Of course when September 9th rolls around and you ask the same question, DDO will be there. I actually didnt' see they pushed back the release date (figures), and was misinformed that it launched already. I was actually looking forward to playing that for a month.
Looks like it's TCoS for me until Aion is out.
Atlantica is good game to try
it has a unique gameplay and lots of features
it doesn't hurt to try it while waiting for Aion
try karos online, in this weekend will be 1st closed beta time, dunno when is 2nd but jade dynasty other times perhaps ?
I'm pretty sure both The Chronicles of Spellborn and Runes of Magic would keep you occupied for the month.
I played both and enjoyed them for about a month each.
I left TCoS largely because there was no population, but that may have changed now.
I might be somewhat cynical, but in the UK that's around the date all the kiddiwinks go back to school. Maybe they are trying to stop an avalanche of new players swamping the servers on the release day.
Perfect world and Runes of magic are good.
Played : WOW, LOTRO, COH/COV, EQ2, SWG, and WAR.
Playing EVE Online and AOC.
Wtg for SW:TOR and WOD
For a non-WoW clone and the almost most perfect game system I ever played is Atlantica Online, Its so addicting you will forget Aion.
I've been playing around with Requiem: Bloodymare. Standard MMO formula with a lot more emphasis on blood and gore. The character classes are interesting, but the story is nothing amazing. Just a hack and slash MMO to pass the time.
MMOs played: Horizons, Auto Assault, Ryzom, EVE, WAR, WoW, EQ2, LotRO, GW, DAoC, Aion, Requiem, Atlantica, DDO, Allods, Earth Eternal, Fallen Earth, Rift
Willing to try anything new
Haha, I won't forget Aion. I got hooked on Aion within a few hours.
