I voted "yes" but there should be a "sometimes". I don't like click-to-move as the ONLY means the movement, but coupled WITH WSAD it's actually rather nice. I use it often when I need to travel long distances, I just click way off on the horizon and off I go.
Sometimes for me as well, Bad habit I have there If I want to be any good at pvp I'm gonna have to change my ways
Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...
O how I hate click to move, are they going to give us an option to turn it off? last I looked I didn't see it. Its not a deal breaker for me but I really don't like my avatar auto following on click, auto facing or the general click to move (click on ground go stand there) but NC soft games seem to love it the main reason I couldn't get into Lineage 2.
Keyboard is the only way to go for those non analog functions (more or less every thing except free look).
I also said 'No'. Can't stand the click-to-move mechanic. As for running for periods or distances, I just keybind the autorun option to one of my mouse buttons, the wheel-click for me, and voila. I would however, would like a camera free option to rotate it without having to face the direction I'm looking with the camera. ie. look behind me as I run. Not have to to do a 180 degrees, but eh not a big deal.

I'm assuming you didnt play beta. It's easily turned off under general options.
Should be a 'Sometimes'; I use it during long runs to be lazy but not when I'm active.
Same with me. I use WASD for most gameplay but if I'm feeling lazy and am forced to run a long distance I just use click to move.
Just press Num-Lock and there you go, Auto-Run

I dont think click to move is a dumb asian design, and i do like click to move on some type of games (love it in diablo and neverwinter series for example), but in the Aion type of game i simply cant use it, so the first thing i did when i started Aion was going to the options and turned it off
I love that you have that option for click to move. Makes it easy to play when my son is pulling at my leg and wants to see what am playing. This makes the game very easy to play with 1 hand minus flying =(
Played Aoc/DDO/FFXI/WAR / LoTRo / CO / Aion Playing Rift
Waiting for FFXIV to be the game it should. so sad =(
Click to move really depends on how you're defining "click to move".
I click on the ground, my character walks there? This is definitely only for use in pve, as far as I'm concerned.
I click the mouse, and use it to turn my character 5000% faster than the keyboard would turn my character? That's something you shouldn't be without in pvp situations. But clicking on the ground to move is epic fail in pvp, because your targets in pvp are going to be moving. When you go to click on an enemy, and they run through you to exploit a game's line of sight code, you're now running 40 miles in the wrong direction, giving said enemy plenty of time to hack on your backside. You've now got to turn, reaquire the target, and get back into the fight. That takes precious time, even seconds, which can mean the difference between killing the bad guy, and being the one that's killed.
Real gamers have seen dozens if not hundreds of situations in their pvp careers where they win a fight being left with "0%" (so little health, it doesn't register on % based systems) to 5% health. If you just clicked to move away from your attempted target, you can kiss any chance of that happening goodbye. You'd better hope the other guy sucks more than you do (for being a CtMer in PvP) and pray for a major comeback/recovery from the CtM mistake.
With that said, I CtM (click to move) in pve and safe zone (I hate long walks across zones to find monsters to kill or NPCs to turn in quests to), and CtT (click to turn) in PvP.
no. just like a lot of people here, i only use it when im running long distances in a straight line. but i dont consider that "sometimes".. i mean its just natural to click really far instead of holding down w for a minute. so my answer would be no, even if "sometimes" was an available choice..

Objectivity is delivered with a lack of personality made for the mainstream but never used for the mainstream.
Same with me. I use WASD for most gameplay but if I'm feeling lazy and am forced to run a long distance I just use click to move.
Make games you want to play.

i dont like cause i will go to click an NPC and accidently click the cliff so i start running towrads that instead
pizza sauce... everywhere
First thing I looked to turn off in Aion
Katsma is Lithuanian for 'he who drinks used douche fluid'.
Ditto. It boggles my mind how the Asian MMO gamers like click to move.
Same here. Its nice to know I can get some easy kills though.

No i turned it off. Its ok in a hack and slash such as Titan Quest but not for an mmo.
I used to like it fine back when I played Diablo, but now I can't stand it.

I use forms of click-to-move when I loot, I hit C and have it run up to the mob I killed and loot.
Also when I quest I generally have it auto-run to the npc.
Useful function imo.
You guys obviously dont like RPG's then because the best ones are click to move. But all i hear is meat heads saying "dumb asian design"
What are these "best ones" you speak of?
Uhh... what?

I click to move for auto-walking distances, especially because I alt-tab often.
WASD is basically combat-only for me.
I turn my off I can't stand click to move

Off, ctm is the main reason I could never get in to L2... and, if I want to go long distances, num-lock works fine.
