Im thinking of getting Xbox Live for Halo 2 but a littile confused on how to set up XL my PC is at the exact opposite end of the house. I got DSL and everything. Do i just buy a phone cord and hook it up to my xbox and the other end in the wall. Or do i need an ethernet thingy or router AHHHHHHHHH to much stuff.And to much money

well you don't use a phone cord, you use a Cat 5 cable, also known as an ethernet cable.
As for the modem ordeal, if you do not have a router, then you can just unplug the computers internet connection, and draw a direct connection from the modem to the xbox.
If you do have a router, then just string a cat 5 cable from your xbox to the router...
simple as that!
