Yep its an MMO, you see sometime during all this MMO craze people started to realize they hate each other and can't stand pugging so these "MMO's" became more single playerish.
You see an MMO just means lots of players playing on the same game, nothing ever said there had to be some kind of grouping.
But if you read around more you'll see there is grouping in this game.

Of what I read so far how does interaction with other players happen? Whats the game here?
Your ship grouping with other ships. Your away team grouping with other away teams. Pretty much what you'd expect.
Yep, this game seems to be a ship to ship interaction game, rather than person to person. Hence one of the reasons why I dont feel it is Star Trek at all.
A: In space, you can form teams and do missions together. Space battles will occur between multiple player and NPC vessels. When you do a ground mission, the mission owner can build an away team that consists of other players. Outside of combat, there will be numerous community building features, locations, hubs and events that will bring players together.
Kinda sounds like this game takes grouping and social interaction similar to Guild Wars? Please tell me that isn't the case... If it is, I think it would lose a lot of potential.

I really hope not, it may be that away missions are in instances though.
I don't think we'll see what sto has to offer in this area until some beta vids get released

I don't really see this game translating to an mmo very well.
It seems like tons of developers are trying to force a game to be an mmo when it would be better suited to be a single player game.
Maybe I'm wrong and it turns out well. I know I've been trying to find a good Sci-Fi mmo to waste some time on.
