Downloaded the Beta, installed, created an account and all I am getting is a patching screen with no action. Am I missing something? TIA!

Refer to the forums, there was a pretty extensive workaround in place for the initial patch.
I had to install the preloaded thingy from Fileplanet, then download the "beta client" form there too.
I would seriously not rely on the games patcher for the initial big download. When I used it, the damn thing kept losing connection the patch server and wasn't saving its download process. I restarted it about 10 times (from 0%) and the highest it got was about 11%.
Beta client + Preload fixed it for me though.
