World of Warcraft Anti Addiction Drug

I heard on a radio program this morning on my way to work that the drug companies are hard at work testing a pill to "help" addicts with computer gaming habits.

They say computer gaming, especialy games like WoW have the similar addictive qualties as Heroine or Coke.

At least so their testing has proven.

Anyway, the drug companies feel they have a good market full of teens whos parents want to get them to play fewer video games.

Hey, theres gonna be a pill for everything one day.

The parents are adults why don't they just not let them play video games or is that too close to what they call parenting?

Me too. Can't wait for the post full of random "facts" and tons of underlining about how WoW is the greatest invention in the history of mankind that really has nothing to do with the actual discussion. Expect to hear about jealous haters too.

One man, a small pile of money, and the screwball idea of a DIY Indie MMORPG? Yep, that's him. ~sigh~

This looks more like an excuse for so-called "mental experts" to tell more people about their so-called "problems" and to tell them how much they need drugs to keep them from going out of control. I want to think I'm a little less naive in even believing any bit of this having similar addictive qualities as Heroine or Coke. Its obviously a fun activity and who doesn't prefer a fun activity over a not-so-fun activity. I'm sure if Michael Jordan was given any chance during high school or college to play basketball without attending any classes, he would of done it non-stop without anyone telling him he has a problem and look how he ended up.

Things like this is sad and disturbing and reminds me how over-diagnosed children are for Attention Deficit Disorder and Hyperactive Disorder just to hand out freakin Ritilin. They tried diagnosing me with Ritilin because I was energetic and I turned out fine when my parents refused to put me on any drug. It looks like this anti-gaming drug is just another opportunity for money, both for drug companies and doctors alike. I would be more interested to see how they even have linked drugs and computer gaming through their research. I'm sure the amount of studies done in this area is limited at best.
