Champions Online- End Game Opinion?

vrembrantvvrembrantv Member UncommonPosts: 20

My friends and I have been playing in Open Beta for the last week. So far, we are really enjoying the game. But a concern has come up: Endgame.

I was wondering if there is anyone out there that can give an honest opinion about the endgame of Champions Online. Was it fun? Did you endlessly grind instances? Is a super group or guild necessary? Is there enough content to keep you busy? In other words, I need someone with endgame experience to tell me if its truly worth buying this game.

Thanks in advance.

The endgame is probable the best out there thanks to the Nemesis system.  They can only add more to it.  Most of the Nemesis is solable, depends on your build.  There are a few spots that are pretty tough.

What about this is really good about endgame? Can you describe it more...? Is this the only thing to do?

I like this game a lot, but let's be honest, end game is that atm, end of the game.  There is a distinct lack of content.  I truly plan on playing CO for quite a while, seeing as how DCU will have the standard archetype system, but CO REALLY needs to work on end game.

The bad thing was I only got to play a little bit with the nemesis system.  You create your own badguy.  You can have him be a mastermind, crazy guy or SAVAGE!  he occasionally shows up at different levels.  I didn't find any rhyme or reason to when he showed up.  I only got to play with it a little.  They shut down the nemesis shortly after I joined.  So you have to get more info from someone else.  I know you can fight and have some huge fights with your Nemesis when your in a group.

As the nemesis system is good (and his minions randomly show up and drop clues to what your nemesis is up to. When I played I would be ambushed roughly once every 20 - 30 minutes.. sometimes more)  and you would make multiple nemeses, however, the end game content revolves roughly around UNITY missions and other PvP based missions.  Rerolling is always an option.... but at this stage I would see END game easily being run through and monotonous in less then a month if you played every day for a couple hours. (unless you are a total PvP junkie -- in which case I don't think CO is the game for you anyway -- but to each his own).

If it's anything like the Mega Destructoids, end game is a seizure-inducing, spaz fest of particle effects.  We took down two of them and it was just nuts.
