Unbalanced powers

There are currently a small number of very over powered abilities in this game. Over powered to the point of being an "I WIN" button.

The first is regeneration + block. If you taking to much damage just hold down your block button, the dps you are taking bottoms, your healing soars, and you are effectively unkillable. This is true in both PvP and PvE. When you are back to full health, thow a few attacks and turtle back up.

Thunderbolt kick: No cooldown timer, costs 1 endurance, very high dps, cancels travel powers, can be used from long range. People don't even bother with other skills, they hit autorun and just spam this one button. It effectively glues a melee character to his opponent and simultaneously cancels that opponents ability to run away. This is equally overpowered in both PvP and PvE as it negates any need to build endurance.

Teleportation: Not so bad on its own, very nasty when combined with regeneration. A regenerating character can recover nearly his entire health bar while in teleport mode.  Not so overpowered in PvE, though it is nice to be able to cross the entire map without worrying about being attacked.

In PvP the combination of these three powers = GODMODE. About 99% of the people you see bragging about their PvP abilities are using these three powers almost exclusively.

    On its own its still godly. Its a get out of jail free card if you are ever in danger, it also trumps every single travel ability since it can be used for flying stealthed at the fastest speeds in the game, it also has the best handling, and is pretty much instant. No charging needed, just press T and you are off giggling like a retarded school girl...who also happens to be invisible.

    That's probably why it's called beta, and I think they're still working on the whole balancing of the skills.

    Secondly, you should just laugh at the players that brag about PvP skills.

    I've only been allowed to play the game yesterday, as the beta ended today. But I'm really interrested in this game as it has potential to become a good game. I did notice 1 skill that was double mojo-gun, I find that skill not overpowered in damage, but energy wise. It hardly costs any energy to use and it does decent damage each hit. But as for other skills, it just needs some tweaking and alot of testing, which also costs alot of time.

    I said its not so overpowered in PvE due to the fact that its not going to help you kill anything. Yes, I can get from point A to point B faster than anyone else, but I'm not going to be using teleport while actually fighting. Not like say, superspeed, which gives a damage bonus or flight which can keep you out of range of some of a lot of the melee powers, or even acrobatics, which give you substantially improved manueverability in combat.

    Some of these things are imbalanced at low level when it comes to PvP but at 40 its a whole different ball game. an offensive based toon rips apart regen and inv users, PFF require a lot more work but doable. thunderbolt Lunge is currently bugged and will be fixed for launch.

     

    I just hope that when they balance out the defensive passive at low level they don't nerf them at the higher level. I spent 14 hours PvP 'ing in the lvl 40 matches yesterday and was using a damage form instead of a defensive passive, people didnt stand a chance. If they nerf them across the board then high level PvP will weill just have everyone being 2 second kills.
