A couple of Megadestroid pics and little review.

I put them on my game blog. its easier but there are a couple of pics from the end of Open Beta event where we had to take down the Mega-Destroid. They just kept on coming too.

The mega-destroids are tough, but they just stand there and take it while dishing out insane damage.
The cryptonauts are much more fun, imo. Quick, powerful and played by devs I believe. I helped take down 6 megas tonight and only managed to take down 1 crypto, who promptly rezzed themselves and flew off.

That's right -- they were played by devs. Sadly, I was lagging so badly (there must have been 50 people within the immediate vicinity) that I didn't realize the Cryptonaut had specifically targeted me and I watched myself die in a slideshow of amazing particle effects.
But I was really confused as to how the perks were supposed to be distributed. On the forums the devs explicitly stated that all you had to do was damage a Mega-Destroid and you would receive the event rewards, but then we discovered an open mission and several players were reporting that they received action figures/titles while doing the open mission, so with all of the misinformation spreading it was difficult to discern it from the facts.
I think the biggest disappointment was that at the end of the open-beta Doctor Destroyer visited channel 25 as the servers went down and I wasn't there. I couldn't change channels because channel 25 was full.

Ye know, i did not mention the cryptonauts. My bad. I got targeted and attacked by one too. I did not last long so I stopped thinking about the encounters I had with them. I did not die from lag but just did not expect them to wing around and chase me down after I threw down and Anvil of Dawn. Tried to run away- Failed!
The perk I got was for killing X number of destroids not for specificlaly bringing down the Mega-Destroid. As I understand it, if you helped fight one you get the prize.
I missed the Dr. Destroyer cameo too. That sucks.
Yeah I help kill some megadestructoids and cryptonauts as well. Was a lot of fun. This is the type of PVE I like when everyone comes by to help defeat a big boss and everyone shares the wealth when it goes down. Wish they'd do something like this like every other day

That is absolutely amazing, considering the Open Beta isn't over yet, but was extended to 5pm PDT today(8pm if you are in eastern)...

On a more serious note, servers went down for maintenance, that is it, they are supposed to be back up by 10am PDT, from what I read.

When the servers went down last night, we (as in the players I was grouped with and the players in zone chat) ASSUMED it was the end of open beta, so just shut up with the sarcasm. I didn't even know it had been extended until about 30 minutes after I made that post. I had brief access to the official forums (just long enough to glimpse the announcement), which now appear to be down. The website was down at the time I made the post, so I missed the announcement there also. Yes, I forgot to go back and edit my original post, but I've been doing other things and forgot I posted that sentence in the first place.
Also, if you were online at the time the servers were taken offline, you would know that an admin message came across the screen that stated that it was the end of open beta and that Dr. Destroyer would be attacking the servers as they went down. So, yes, I think I had reasonable expectation to believe it was the end of beta, and so I went to sleep after I logged off without checking the forums again until today.
