That sounds like a really lousy system. Seems like tanks and healers are going to suffer.

Healers actually rock in this game. If you want to have an easy time with this game, one of the healing classes is a safe way to go. Not only do they do really well solo, but they are always welcome in groups.

As for tanks, they do get the shaft a little bit, but in a way this makes them even more valuable. Finding good tanks (in beta at least) was very difficult, meaning finding groups as a tank will be much easier (at least at launch). So if you want to play a tank I'd recommend making him one of your first characters.

Quite. On balance he seems to like the game. Informative and amusing stuff.

Funny vids.   i'm playing on release and actually i found that these were some of the highest quality vids i've seen so far of actual game play.  they will work out 99% of the bugs like loot ect before the first major expansion. It took lineage2 about 3 Huge chapters/expansion before they had most of the bugs worked out in it. i suspect they will do it faster with this game b/c of the huge number of players that will start and they would like to keep them all playing and paying.

I found his reviews to not only be very entertaining, but also informative.  He brings up very valid concerns with the game, and I'm hoping NCwest gets a hold of these videos and relays them to the devs.

Normally when someone says their review is unbiased, it's not, but in this case, by presenting his criticisms in a detailed and comical matter, he actually comes off as someone who is unbiased. Crazy I know.  This was actually one of the better reviews I've read/seen for Aion, AND it's done really really well, his editing is top notch for youtube quality.

    Would watch again.

MMOs played: Horizons, Auto Assault, Ryzom, EVE, WAR, WoW, EQ2, LotRO, GW, DAoC, Aion, Requiem, Atlantica, DDO, Allods, Earth Eternal, Fallen Earth, Rift
    Willing to try anything new

I actually bought it on the basis of these. I thought here is a guy who seems to be having  fun despite highlighting some of the issues in amusing way. A shame more reviews are not up to this standard. Agree about the production standards too.

Yeah I sent these videos to my friends and they are now joining me in Aion from their previous MMO's.

The stacking bonuses on gear- he said he doesn't know if there's a cap, anyone have any info on this?
can't remember what the other question I had was, maybe it'll come to me later

OH ! it was his point on stealing loot - what determines who gets the loot? anyone know? thanks

think everyone got the loot questions (dmg based out of group, in group based on leaders choice)

you can enchant weapons/armor to a max of +10 and when u do i believe it gets a sweet glowy effect

Here are the issue with these videos, both good and bad can be considered bundled together.

    1.  It touch on various game systems with enough information to let people know the systems exist, but only scratch the surface of the systems without going much into it.  Some important aspect of the system are skipped and dismissed before moving on to another subject.  This is both good and bad because it let others know there are many different systems, but does not tell people enough about how in-depth these systems can be.

    2.  Overly critical of anything that WoW have and Aion doesn't have while downplay Aion's strong point.  Being critical can be a good thing for a comparison, but downplay Aion's strong point is rather foolish for a review no matter if it is "un" biased or not.  Being biased should be based on opinions and not based on information control.

    3.  He got a good voice and are pretty humorous.  This is strictly a positive aspect of these videos.

    4.  Many references to WoW (which is ok) and used faulty opinions of another forum user to prove the point about starting area (strictly bad)

    5.  Video 1 and 2 are of decent quality, but only goes about half way into each system before moving on, while video 3 did not include much other than his humor and love for WoW, which I respect but does not entirely agree.

Conclusion:  This video entertained me, but did not do a good job at informing me about Aion due to many missing information about the systems (At least no informations that I don't already know).  I recommend watching these video as a random information gathering instead of hoping for in-depth information.
