Pre - Order not working??

nomrawnomraw Member Posts: 146

I just bought the pre - order key from direct2drive 2 days ago....I entered the key of Aion EU at play nc soft.... I then submit my credit card details....it keeps giving me the error message REFUSED...wtf???? why am I not able to create an account...is it coz I live in India or is it coz....they aren't accepting keys for now??...my credit card is perfectly fine btw....maybe it has something to do with accepting EU cards only or something like that....but why won't it let me create an account??? I've contacted NC Soft customer support...their first response was quite quick...it seems they've escalated my issue to another department...but no response from them yet....should I just wait..???? is it possible to cancel my pre - order now so I can rebuy it later on?

I would heckle them until you get a response you're satisfied with seeing how you purchased something from them. If it went on for anything longer than a few days without an answer and resolving the issue personally I would cancel and be sure to tell NCSoft why you were.

    That's me though...

You can always purchase the game later by other means.  I see no reason why they would have a freeze on activating keys right now so hopefully they figure out the issue for you soon.  Is there a number where you can actually call them?  I've found if you can track down a phone number and call companies it tends to get a fire under their ass a lot faster than e-mails tend to.  Granted you'll be on hold for eons and transferred about a gagillion times but it does tend to work least for me.

I was able to enter my registration data and create an account.  Of course, I'm not on the EU side of things and I purchased mine directly from NCSoft so that may be different.

Ditto from the EU side of things, although I also got mine directly from NCSoft.  Looking at e.g. the Steam forums though, other have also managed to get through to game account creation/log on screen.  OP, i would persist with NCSoft.  Something seems definitely iffy.

In all the scenarios....does the site ask for credit card details???am I registering at the right site???....I don't understand why you'd need a credit card to be registered under that site...

You made an EU account and then added the key to the account right? or did you get the error when you try to enter it?

I made an account with an Indian address :(

tried adding key to that account....I am sure nothing is wrong with the key....prolly the region from where my credit card is coming from....but still....why do you need to enter credit card details in the first place to CREATE an account....I am sure I atleast deserve the first month as I already got the key.....

I am also sure that my credit card is fine....its registered under paypal...and thats what I used to get the key from direct2drive....so whats the fk up???

maybe I am over reacting...but 30 pounds is a lot in my currency :(...I atleast need a refund...as nothing was mentioned about not accepting players from other countries in EU..

It didn't ask for my payment information until after I had entered my keys. At that point, it wanted my credit information/Paypal information for when it will start the subscription fees after 1 month.

Mehh...I think I'll stick with my mail...will wait for 2 more weeks before I start panicking...but still...it just doesn't make sense.

well you can do whatever you want but from personal experience it takes them forever to get back through e-mail game could be out by the time they get back to you and this was from an ncsoft employee when i was on the line with him looking for my gw keys its not that they ignore them its just they get so many e-mails it takes forever to go through them then ppl close em and so forth and since each one has to be handled different  it could take a while to get resolved

Err...If that the case then its bad customer support....I doubt if that would happen in every scenario though :)  or rather in this.... Lets hope I get a reply soon...or atleast some way through which i can create the bloody account..

  • nomrawnomraw Member Posts: 146

WTF....no reply from them yet....also....a friend of mine who is from my city....submitted a ticket...asking them if India is a supported region....and they said NO.....I know that there was some issue a while back and some countries weren't accepted for EU servers......but why won't they accept India? :(

If you live in India and India is considered a part of Asia,  you might only have access to the Asian servers.  Which I hope not in your case.

You should've figured out the specific policy dealing with your region before you shelled out money for a pre-order. I wouldn't be getting mad at their lack of response (especially with a big release coming up) I would blame your lack of preparation. You can also save yourself the frustration by following the advice given here and calling rather than setting yourself up for even more disappointment by waiting for an e-mail on an issue that you feel needs a more hasty response.

Nothing like smug patronism to help out in a mess is there eh?  Seriously, I disagree with all ^ that.  If they're not getting back to you keep on trying.  Whether you made a mistake or not, they could at least get back in touch.

Meh...issue resolved.......I created my Aion EU account....India is actually accepted :P

No they haven't replied yet =.=

and the problem was my credit card new policy for online transactions, which was made mandatory last month...

I have to use a netsafe card software which will randomnly generate a secondary card number and code...which I can use for my transactions....This is so that other websites don't know my real card number....This generated card number is ofcourse linked to my main card....so payment etc... will be real. Its like I go to the supermarket to buy a pack of condoms with a Batman costume =.=

I learned a while ago my bank refuses to allow payments from the creditors that ncsoft uses, I ended having to use paypal or timecards.
