Most Open Beta tests these days are really more "open" than open, and Champions Online was no different. Today is a different day, however!
In an announcement made on the official Champions Online website, the Open Beta has gone fully open, so if you're curious about the game (but not enough to preorder or subscriber to Fileplanet), you can now go ahead and give it a spin!""
Hey guys i was wondering if i've just missed the Open Beta for this game??
I have read on some posts that Beta time is being extended, If this is true, will it still be fully open when Beta is extended, if so where can i get my Key? I've tried Fileplanet, im not a subscriber though.
And if i have just missed this Open Beta (I think it closed on the 25th?) where can i get my key next? from fileplanet if the Beta gets Extended or....
I am going to pre-order this game just for the fact i enjoyed CoX, and i've been following this game around for quite some time now and i'm really looking forward to it, But i can only Pre-Order the game tonight since my mum or my sister needs to come home since i dont have a freakin debit card or anything like that.

If you look at the front page of the official website, you'll see the following article:
While the Open Beta officially ends today, we’re going to leave the server up tomorrow so that we can finalize our configurations for Early Start and launch. We invite you to login and continue to play, however you will receive short notice before we take down the server for good and wipe the characters in preparation for the game’s release. You all deserve a huge thanks for your participation this week, and we sincerely appreciate all the feedback we’ve received from you. We look forward to seeing you in Millennium City when we launch in a few days!
So, while Cryptic did extend the open beta, you'll be coming in at the very end of it -- if you get your client fully patched by that time. But even if you only get a couple hours of play, it's still better than nothing.
