I would not mind giving up my car for in-town driving for something like this,  but would still prefer a bigger car for longer road trips.

$2000 to own and 50 mpg.

Yes please, I'll take one.  I don't care what the car looks like as long as it runs well and is reliable.  There are a lot of other factors of course.  Emissions, highway driving, safety.

So the Yugo heads to India, lol.  It Looks like it would be a good commuter, but I agree not something you would take on a long trip.  Bah!  $2000 by the time that bad boy hits the show rooms in this great country of free enterprise we'll be paying well over $6000...

I beleive the US version will be about $5000-$6000. I remember reading this the day it was first sold in India (the car is Indian-made btw).

This $2,000 version doesn't meet US safety or environmental standards - to add, it also doesn't have air conditioning. Radio, I care not to have one anymore, I just plug my IPOD into the lighter for power, attach speakers, and voila, car stereo.

and who says being green is cheep?

Anyways for 6000 bucks i'd rather buy a good used veicle, somthing tells me like most things from india the quality isn't going to be very good.

I'd rather have a street legal dune buggy imo.

It looks ok to me and at 50 mpg not too bad compared to the standard cars you can get here. I wont however use it for long trips either and id say it wont ave many accessories that we all take for granted nowadays such as air con electric windows, cd player

Another great example of Moore's Law. Give people access to that much space (developers and users alike) and they'll find uses for it that you can never imagine. "640K ought to be enough for anybody" - Bill Gates 1981

There is much better choices if the price even gets close to that.   It's just going to be a failed import.  Well.... Unless they market it along the lines of say a coffin/car all in one combo.

Haha Yeah.. I cringe every time I see something like this and it gets past 45 Mph... Some idiot will take it onto the highway then I get a longer trip home :(

If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude; greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you; May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.
