So I have pretty much stopped buying computer games because it seems like most of them are to high for my computer. The last one I bought was Age of Conan. Was barely able to play on the lowest settings. I was looking at the recommened requirments for Aion and I think my computer might be able to run it, so I wanted to know if someone could help me be sure.
I know my video card is an ATI Radeon X 1600 pro because I bought it to upgrade my computer a litte. I have 3g of ram so I am not worried about that.
My computer is about 5 years old and I don't know what kind of sound card or processor I have. Anyone I know how I can check to see if they will be able to handle Aion? I am running Windows XP

The best way i can think of for you to find out your specs would be to download CPU-Z at www.cpuid.com/download/cpuz/cpuz_152_setup.exe
once you run it a small box will pop up with all of you specs on seperate tabs. If you look down towards the bottom theres a button that says validate. Click that and it should take you to a website where it will display all you specs on the left side. Just copy that info and paste it into the forum and we can look at it. Aion doesn't require much from a machine so i wouldnt doubt if you could run it with yours.
Okay so this is what I got from it, looks like I should be able to. What do you think?

Your system could probably run the game at low or medium settings if you clean it regularly, just make sure you don't have unnecessary services and programs running in the background, because you only have 2gb of RAM and not 3, and your ram is 166mhz.
I'd recommend you run your antivirus, run some anti spyware programs too, I recommend Spybot search & destroy and the free version of ad-aware. Clean your services by following these directions: http://www.theeldergeek.com/services_guide.htm
Also run msconfig (type msconfig in run) and go to the startup tab and uncheck any programs that are necessary, just make sure that they aren't necessary before unchecking them.
Download and run ccleaner, and do a cleanup of your computer and the registry.
These are some simple steps you should follow to clean up your computer and consume less RAM and CPU. That way you're sure that you can run some games better than you're used to. If you follow these steps, you might be able to run Aion on medium settings.
Actually Aion doesn't require that much for a game with such beautiful graphics, I was surprised to see the minimum specs.
Have fun and let me know if you have any questions.
Yeah gonna have to knock the dust off from that bad boy. You shouldn't have much of an issue running it at lower settings with your 1100, i think recommended is a 800. 2GB of ram should be fine with the fact that your running XP. Golarum could be on to something running ccleaner and closing down you excess programs running in msconfig. I do that myself and it helps alot in Vista. Just make sure background apps are closed down when you do run the game, including ccleaner. If you dont like the way the game is running your only option really would be to buy a new pc as your is pretty far outdated.
Best of luck in Aion man!
Thanks for all your help guys. I'll do what you said, I actually have most of those programs. I just don't run the as often as I should lol.
So now that I feel more assured maybe I'll go pre-order it :-D
I would reccomend getting a new system mate, look here click you could get the budget model for under £500 by using old parts from your present system, probably less than £300 actually! Your present system has slow RAM, old proccessor and an acient GPU but most of all it is an INFITEL processor and you must be converted to the true faith, AMD!

Haha is agri a preacher? All this talk about conversion and all lol. The pc desperately needs to be overhauled but it will play Aion if nothing else on low settings.
Yeah I don't want to upgrade yet. I want to hold out for about another year, I want to get a new PC for SW:TOR. I figure the longer I wait to buy the PC the better it will be when the game comes out. I just have been following Aion for about 2 years maybe so now that it is finally coming out I figured it would be a good break from WoW lol
I totally hear you there. I've been looking for a way out of WOW for about 2 years now, played several games and they just aren't the same. I had high hopes for Aion but it left a little to be desired to me. Now I'm waiting on FFXIV to get into beta testing...
I was hoping that Aion would be a good game, anyone tried it yet during the closed beta?
I played the beta and i wasn't impressed with it really. There were a few things i liked but many that i didnt. Can't really base the game off from my opinion alone though. I liked the game overall it just isnt for me
wife and i played the past two betas
the pvp is great
the pve is fun
it is VERY well programmed
either way it is worth a shot
If you ever played FFXI, then you would already know that your going to move on fast if you played wow.

do you guys think i'd do just fine with this kind of settings?
All 6 CB events I have used 2 machines but both of them have a better GPU, I am sure you CPU is fine but you GPU might need a boost in order to run game in high quality. My low end system has 1x 8800 GTS and I was able tu run everything in high with no problems.
When it comes to game itself as it was pointed out before PVE is fun, alot of quests and group leveling is fast. PVP is different at least for me that flight form takes time to get used to. I am looking forward to Sep. 6-13th and Open Beta event. Hope to see you in game.
im gonna get a new video board then thanks for ur help
u think if i get one 9600GT DDR3 video board will it be okay?
I am sure that will be more then enough.
that will be fine, but if you want a bi tmore bang for the 90-100 dollar range try this

the 4850 is unbeatable at that price range
