I don't really get why you guys are blaming NCSoft for this. It's not like they want to alienate a portion of their customer base, that would just be ridiculous. Blame the country or the EU if anything.

??? What have the country or the EU got to do with it?  What an odd thing to say.

We can't get Amazon Kindle in the UK.  I'll write to my MP and blame the government about it.  Maybe hold a demo.

They stated it is a licensing issue. That doesn't mean NCSoft is purposely avoiding certain countries, it means they are having difficulty obtaining a license for them.

I can't see the EU or the governments of the countries affected insisting that they be included in the Russian licence so what basis do you have for that suspicion?

Honestly, you can stop complaining about how "its only logical because geographically, politically, blah blah blah its more like Europe" because it doesn't matter. Things like this are purely a business decision between publishers. If the Russian publisher said "we want these areas too or we're not going to do it" then they're going to toss you in as part of the package. Ultimately it comes down to who NCsoft thinks is financially worth supporting themselves, or if they should or need to pass it on to another publisher.

Bans a perma, but so are sigs in necro posts.

It is funny how people from the US tend to come out with this line, until it affects them of course when they're picking up the pitchforks and marching around with the rest of them.

Here's another solution: many games have language-specific servers (for example, French servers for North American players in Quebec). I don't know how the distribution deal is worded, but can't NCSoft (or whoever is doing the Russian distribution) simply create a Lithuanian or English server among the many Russian ones? It seems that there's a market, looking at the petitions.

That would not help with the release date, but it might make people a little bit happier.

You wouldn't be talking the same way if YOU were forced to play a Russian version of the game, and be blocked from all other servers. This decision does not make any sense from the business point of view either, since there would me many more Aion players here if we were able to play on EU servers rather than Russian servers.

However I think you are absolutely right regarding the Russian publisher. NCSoft probably doesn't give a damn about three tiny countries, but Russians jumped at the chance to get their "territories" back.

The problem isn't even with the fact that we belong to Innova's support area, but that there was no official announcement whatsoever. So people who bought Aion from third-party publishers like Direct2Drive.co.uk, Steam and so on will likely be stuck with a pretty $50 login screen.

North Korea connect to Russia and China and they have better relationship with Russia and China than South Korea.

So North Korea actually is part of Russia or one other province of China. This will solve the problem between North and South Korea.

Do like I do, and dont play asian mmos. For me, its the art style, but they also seem to have the most idiotic restrictions, usually based on fascist political bullshit.

Clearly Lithuania is NOT part of the Russian federation any more than Estonia and Latvia. Do you know if they are also being excluded?
Perhaps NCsoft need reminding that  you left the USSR about 20 years ago.

And the USSR dissolved around 16 years ago.

This is pretty fail on NCsofts part if they do this.

And Russia is in Europe aswell. There is more into it than this, the baltic states still by a large amount do trades with Russia.

Looks more like a simple topic to troll on a forum about :/

There is no reason to why one should accept this. Regardless if they are in US or not.

But the reasong behind kordesh is more sane than starting to make connections to former USSR or even worse... lack of human rights.

Actually, yes, I just got word about it today!

We?d like to fully clarify the situation around the availability and launch of Aion in the Baltic States.

Lately we?ve seen discussion related to the availability of an English Aion client and the possibility to connect and play on European servers. First of all we?d like to thank our community raising it as an issue, we?re very honoured to have such a devoted and enthusiastic community in the region and secondly we have good news to share with you all!

We?re pleased to announce that Aion, the most anticipated MMO of the year, will be fully supported by NCsoft West also in the Baltic States of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The launch will be concurrent with the scheduled release in other supported European countries on the 25th of September, 2009.

Our Account Management system will allow the creation of Aion game accounts from 10th of September and we?re working with our distributor to ensure that Aion will be available in local retail stores as soon as possible.[/quote]

    FREEDOM!

Oh yes. I read all of this.

Then main idea of this posts lithuanians hate russians. It is because russians can stop Hitler invasion in spite of Lithuania and other baltic countries (especially Ukraine) assistance. What selective memory? When they speak about occupation they always forget about their doings? That people trying to convert main subject to nationalists discussion.

Then i very happy find what russians dominate in p2p games (i'm not too experienced in p2p games and i don't see it with my eyes, i think it rumors but you enlighten me with that). Because i'm terrible russian from Kazakhstan. Anyway main idea of p2p games it to dominate one player (or group) against another, it is Sims you now. Then i tell you don't cry and be strongest be organized  and you win.

About speaking in game: when i play in Aion i found many people who speak other than english in party chat. Then why people think russians must speak only on english in game but other people not? It nationalists words again. If you don't like people who don't know english just don't deal with them.

    About main subject.

You ignore all posts where writed what russians laso want play on Aion Europe.

      1. Then what we don't have:

1.1 We don't have any official information about IP blocking and about prohibition for people outside EU to play in Aion EU. If some one find it please post link on it. I write question about it to NCSoft support and wait answer.

      2. We have:

2.1 Many people from Russia and Kazakhstan play in Aion EU without any problem.

2.2 Many people from Russia banned.

But i found banned only account purchased through 3rd party sellers. All people from Russia who purchase Aion from NCSoft Shop or from Steam, plays very well without any problems. Also i have information that NCSoft actively check account information. Many accounts was blocked  and people receive requests to provide some personal information. After that all account was unblocked.

As result of this. We can many access codes will be stealed from NCSoft and sold trough 3rd party sellers. And NCSoft try catch all of this.

    Then IP blocks - mistification.

Your politicians seem to speak russian fluently:

At least enough to take simple orders...

But, politics aside. They really should include you to european region instead of russian.

Innova is the biggest pile of sh!t and has been nothing but trouble for Russian gamers.

  • KvantumKvantum Member Posts: 2

Oh. I don't know what i must think.

Then i recive answer from NCSoft.

    Response (Elana) 10/02/2009 01:41 AM

    Hello Vladmir,

I can confirm that people living in Ex-Soviet Russia cannot play Aion Europe or North America. You will have to use the Russian service Innova. http://aion.ru

People who are banned are banned for various reasons, not all of them having to do with which version of Aion they were able to acquire. If people have an issue with why they were banned, they will need to contact us directly.

If you are in an area that is covered by Innova, you can only use their service to play Aion. This is the official statement by NCsoft.

If you need any further assistance, please let us know.

    Cheers,

    Elana

    NCsoft Account Support

Billing and Technical Support can be reached via phone,

    Monday - Friday, 12pm - 5pm Central at (512) 225-6359.

Then after that i still play in Aion without problem. I don't know how much.
