It should be called "World of Welfare" do to its extreme similarity to World of Warcraft and is the same in alot of its design and style...but its free!! It has alot of differant aspects about it also. I really am enjoying this game so far. The only thing that I really cant say I like so far...is the sound...It has to be the worst sounding game I have played since Atari 2600's E.T. But other then that It is addictive and rather fun...not bad at all for a FTP!!!

Its similar in the fact that it has quests and gold and other online players. Or are you just looking at your interface and seeing similar toolbars?
As for the sound, the music in the game IMO is nice, the sounds for the MOBs are pretty annoying.
I don't even want to comment on "World of Welfare" I love how you can say "I really am enjoying this game so far" but at the same time attempt to trash it.
I played it for a while and I enjoyed it. its a good game. Dont like the crafting so much but a good game.
Played : WOW, LOTRO, COH/COV, EQ2, SWG, and WAR.

I agree with the OP it is VERY similar to WOW.
The design is EXACTLY the same ,hand out a ton of boring quests,give unrealistic xp rewards for doing next to nothing .You can level the entire game solely through quests,no grind needed whatsoever,heck solo all the way if you want,yes it is EXACTLY like WOW.The graphics are not cartoony like wow,but the game design is for sure the exact same.I love a sub class system,and really hoped it would work but ROM has implemented the sub class system so poorly,i feel like i don't even have a sub class.
I play to have some fun with combat albeit nothing new there either,and i had hoped to get into a lot of crafting,but it is the one aspect of the game that is a huge grind.I say the word grind because it is not just the time involved,nor even the fact you need harvests,but the results of your hard work are minimal.Things like gathering 100 harvests to make a few items is a tad bit unrealistic.Basically crafitng feels like you picked an orchard of apples but only got 1 bushel of apples from it lol.It is a total flipside to the leveling design.
I could see making crafting a real grind if you did not need to party or kill anything,but not the case,you actually need to do more hardcore gaming than the leveling part of the game.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
lol rom a wow clone not even close you want a wow clone badly in f2p go play 4story thats a wow clone as for sound graphic and all it will be all fixed by the time we get book 2.as for any complaint about grind ,micro-transaction store is there for all those issue.this is 1 of the great f2p games out there.
okay now ive had it....ROM has somethings that may resemble WOW but its no clone...ive played both and they are compltely different.....i hate it when WOW fans always wanna bash another game just cuz of similiar things in-game...both games SUCK...
I played wow for a while but was looking for another MMO. This one is very similar, at first I hated it because the camera controls were hard to figure out, but after a while I got used to them and realized that they were easy to use. I have leveled up barely to 7 but was enjoying some of the game's features. Is it better than Wow? Not really, but its a good free alternative. Of course, I would like to do more pvp and I think I have been mostly soloing so getting a group together might make it more fun, any others intersted?
Yes! Every game that's solo friendly, has quest stacking,action bars, wasd movement is a WoW clone!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why because it's free to play? i beta tested this game with my gaming community and even played a bit of the open beta as well. I have also tried WoW and by no means is RoM a WoW clone, just because there might be some features or options in the game that are also in WoW, don't make it a clone. The word "WoW clone" is seriously miss used by so many people who don't get what a clone is, to be a clone EVERYTHING would have to be the same as WoW. So pretty much the company taking WoW and putting their own name to it would make it a clone. Which in this case it's not so i really don't get why people still use this term to describe every damn game out there.
To touch on the whole P2P/F2P issues, people play F2P games because they "choose" to use their money for other more important things, not because their to cheap or to poor to afford it. I've played my fair share of P2P games and F2P games and so far i can honestly say that F2P games have held my attention way longer then P2P games have (hoping swtor changes that). So for the people who say that people go F2P cause they can't afford it, that's a bunch of bull. Maybe some kids parents wont pay for their online game, but as for adults, i'm sure it's just a matter of what game they want to invest their money in, rather then whether or not they can afford it.
Hehe, you should take the "but" out of the title! Beats spending £120 quid a year hands down!
