Ohnoes... Neon glowing cartoon guppies will fill the screen of many a teeny-bopper caps-lock general. This will most surely spell the doom for AoC.

Having a source of income is the only requirement to participate in Funcoms paid beta and that obvously requires no intelligence so this game will keep limping along I assure you.

but yeah, to call this game Fantastic is like calling Twilight the Godfather of vampire movies....

Let me guess.. you are one of those people who think animations like Simpsons and Family guy are for kids?

Aion is looking very good. Art looks great, combat system looks great. Have you even seen it?

Anyways I hope you enjoy your "adult" game with digital boobies

CO and Aion will most definitely affect AoC. Only question is how much.

So why aren't you in the AION forums here slamming all them trolls that think Aion is crap? No because you rather be the troll here with your many banned accounts.

For the love of god I wish Aion would hurry up and release so people can rush to try the new game of the month then come back and say they got bored or whatever.

Also CO jumped straight to #15 in Xfire while AoC is still at #50.

Xfire doesnt show real statistic about games.Personnaly im playing online games like 11 years and i dont use xfire or similar program, i know most of my friends doesnt use it too.

And my opinion AoC much much better game than CO. CO looks like a kid game, sorry i dont like cartoon games like CO.

Eh Champions is on #32 on Xfire (just 15 among MMOs). Compared to AoC and WAR who were #4 at launch.

Even thou I dont play AoC or like the game I must say that the trolling here is just silly. And CO is far worse than AoC + have microtransactions...

    If WoW = The Beatles
    and WAR = Led Zeppelin
    Then LotrO = Pink Floyd

AoC is a solid game now whether the haters want to admit it or not. I cant say much about end-game because I don't bother with the grind at max level in mmos anymore. From a casual gamers perspective AoC is alot of fun. The combat alone stands out from the rest of MMOs out right now (including Aion and Champions) imo. Not too mention the graphics are still one of the best out.

If AoC had more incentive to pvp I'd probly drop all the mmos I own now and play it because the combat is a blast. Its the only MMO I know of that allows you to truely master the fighting style of a particular class. I respect Funcom for fixing up the game from a horrible launch and trying to make it better. They know AoC has alot of potential just as the fans do.

Why even bother bashing another MMO you don't like? The MMOs out are all fairly generic and bland, the one people choose is all a matter of taste. Their video games..get over yourself LOL.

I'll be playing Aion, not because its orginal or unique, but because its new and polished. Aion and Champions is nothing new. Whats with all the hate? Seriously?

This made me lol and then realize your opinion isn't credible.

An opinion about a game is just an opinion originating in personal preferences.  I can not see what credibility has to do with anything.

I have had a lot of fun out of Conan, but for me it has gone stale and Funcom don't seem to be at home anymore, so I will be giving Aion a month or two of my time.

If I don't like it I can always come back to Conan, but at least then, when I am asked about these games I will know a little of what I am talking about.

eureka105: While I truly enjoy conspiracy theories, I think it is a little nutty to believe that Funcom is creating fake profiles here to post positive reviews about the game.  In actuality, they seem barely able to respond to all the queries on their own message board.  In either event, it would be more effective to have an actual customer representative post comments here to whatever critique of the game is being raised by current players, former players, and the various angry basement nerds.

CO hasn't been launched yet. It officially releases in about 8 and half hours from now.

But that aside. CO and Aion are so completely different games compaired to AoC.

I don't see it having that much affect. Well Aion maybe for the PVP, if people are purely looking to kill other players and don't give a darn about theme, story and setting.

Another new account. Ekadd is that you?

You don't seem to understand the concept of credibility. What everyone is saying that Ekadd is a newly joined Norwegian guy with close ties to Funcom. This comment might be his "personal opinion" BUT it also might be a LIE because of his possible hidden agenda (helping out his friends at Funcom). We don't know. That's why credibility is important.

EDIT: I got confused with names. Ekadd wasn't that Norwegian guy. Ekadd is just your average fanboi.

lol guys. I'm Turk and i live in Turkey, i dont have any contact with Funcom or Norway. Also i dont have any active account, including AoC but i really like to game.I was feeling better when played AoC and all i know AoC is a great game.Im just fun of gothic, historicial, sword&sorcery themed games..

"eureka105" i dont have multiple mmorpg account, "minitaro" is different guy.

Aion lol...you would think rehashing the same tired old rubbish and releasign it again would get old for MMOS..this MMOS big advertising point is you get WINGS!

CHampions Online could do ok but superheros are rarely a big competitor to those interested in low fantasy games like conan.

Well I would have to agree with eureka105 on this game. Their had been Funcom plants on this board all along, in fact the idea of devs on outside message boards had never crossed my mind until AoC. It's been a long time since I viewed this one, and I see one of them is still here with all his magical up coming updates that only he knows, and his totally upbeat attitude that had been on going for two years.

This morning I had about 5 min run in my head, thinking about giving this game a try, but it's gone now thank GOD.  Well before launch I had viewed underground boards to get the real scoop on AoC, and all were saying this game was bad.  However this game was effectively controlled by Funcom, at least here.

Have you ever noticed that you can't learn anything or ask a question about in game stuff about bad games. It's only fighting on good or bad.  Yet successful games like WoW, EQ2 and EVE boards have at least some good reads ?

I believe you can tell alot about a games' health and quality by the forums. If a games forums are consistantly in flames you can bet that game has major problems. The amount of bile thrown around from both sides of the AoC debockle is telling.

What I find is nutty to start a new account (today) with the sole purpose of defending Funcom. Talk about being a hardcore fan!

BTW I like how you are from "Tokyo, Japan". That's what I would choose if I wanted to be japanese.

This coming from the professional that has been banned and started what six accounts so far? No one is more pro than you.

It is a shame that AOC launched so badly because it is now a very, very fun game.  I have just let my sub lapse with AOC (played since launch) as I have been trying many new games (Aion, Champions, Fallen Earth, Crime Craft, Huxley, etc) and have settled on Champions for sure (very fun game) and am debating about AIon, or resubbing to Conan.

AOC lore, visuals, combat, and classes, are more appealing to me than Aion's but Aion is a solid and good game. I am not a huge fan of Anime style games though and there are a TON of grind out X kills quests in it. It gets fun after 20th level when you start to get into PVPVE stuff.

Anyway, AOC is a solid game now and deserves better than it is getting from the MMO gaming community.

AoC only deserves what it has until it proves it deserves more (or less).  Apparently, it might not even deserve your support since you are letting your sub lapse.  Like 100s of 1000's of previous AoC subscribers, you have decided another game deserves your money over AoC.

I was an early access subscriber that let my sub expire after the box time like many, many others.  I gave the game another chance recently for the 1.05 changes but will probably be cancelling this month.  I still find there to be too many problems with the game at its' core that Funcom either can't or won't change.

Congratulations on being a sheep and following the word of other people who have not played the game.  You could actually try it yourself and have an original thought for once.

Honestly, why come onto the AoC forum to mention other games, like someone said previously go onto their forum and stroke yourself there.

I've been contemplating why there is so much hate for this game, it can't be from the bad launch because that is just pathetic, why be so angry at a game you don't play?

I've composed a small list of why people come here solely to badmouth the game:

    • They are players of another mmorpg that they feel threatened from another game with potential.
    • They do not have computers/laptops/Macs that can run the game, ergo instant blame on the game.
    • They have played the game however they could not get to grips with the combat system while those around them were enjoying themselves, insta jealousy.
    • None of the above and they are just the small petty trolls that enjoy the flame baiting as on any forum.

Now, I have played the game since launch and do consider myself a "Fanboi" as the uber posters like to say.  I have had my reservations on the game but things have been changing, the lynch pin being Craig Morrison taking over as Game Director.  There are bugs as with any mmorpg has but the bugs do not stop the enjoyment of the game.

Lastly, you might not listen to me but don't listen to anyone else on these forums, try the game yourself if you have not played it and form a personal opinion.

AoC would be about average when compared to the usual release MMO right now.

I gave it a try and held out as long as I could, but I'm still very unhappy with it.

Average PvE is all the game is good for, really. But you can get geared up very quickly in the 5mans/crafted gear, and sadly much of the raid items are not really worth it. Not to mention finding enough people to raid is enough trouble considering not many people want to do it - even on Tyranny which is one of the most populated servers.

PvP... the combat is fun if you could find a decent fight - but thats the hard part. PvP is just broken. Minigames are broken because only enough people to do 1 at a time typically do it, which usually ends up with premade vs pug. Sure, you could find people for your own premade, but that is harder then it sounds. Most people avoid premades like the plague, even on PvP servers. Even if you get in one with a premade vs premade, I swear I only had one good game like that also - every other time it ended up with one team getting dominated and pushed back to respawn - not even a good fight. Dozens of Minigame attempts and only 1 good fight - that simply does not cut it. That's why noone does minigames.

World PvP is broken as well - the majority of the world PvP is a group or 2 camping 50 yards from the respawn. Which ends up with one person or another running to the guards, who were supposedly fixed in the patch, but they pretty much randomly kill more then ever. There have been times I have been on a healer, attacked by a ranger, unteamed did NOTHING but heal myself, and the guards proceed to own me - but ignore the ranger 20 feet from me who attacked first.

The only place you could find world PvP without guards is randomly in the Commons nowdays, which sucks as well - you find someone and attack, they hop in the water, fights over since you cant attack in water. So stupid. Guards + water + nothing to claim or take over = broken world PvP.

PvP levels take retarded amounts of grind-time as well... oh and sieges... I been to 2 sieges, and both have been lag city. Not computer lag either - internet lag. Just because theres a few vids up on youtube of good sieges do not mean they all go that way. Last siege my guild was a part of - we were assisting another guild with their defense as they were low on players. Now I'll be honest - the guild we were helping was getting completely dominated. Right as we were about to lose - red bar, crash, log back in... siege over and we managed to win. Our guilds were discussing how much that made us hate the game, even though we were losing, just because of the principal.

The first siege ended in a redbar as well, but it was much earlier in the fight.

The only form of PvP that actually "works" is duels. But that gets old very fast. If I wanted to have duels all day, I would play a game much better suited for it - SF, Tekken, Soul Calibur, MvC, a game that is actually designed about 1v1 combat.

Man I really wanted to like AoC too - especially coming back for the patch after hearing how it has improved so much. The combat could really be fun if everything is perfect - but that is soooo rare... it's a shame. From the direction they are going, that dont seem to be changing any time soon either. They wont be able to match PvE with the competition, and they are completely neglecting PvP.

Improve the PvP system a bit, and add some PvP points in the open world - or something for players to actually fight over 24/7 - hell even make the random towns in borderlands claimable, and things would be much better off then they are now. Far from perfect, but much better.

Right now.... its just painful if you hit 80 and play more then a couple weeks. The only option you have left is to reroll - and for someone like me who is sick of rerolling, that just does not cut it anymore.
