PVP in champions Kick Ass!

PVP in champions Kick Ass!

ive been hearing lots of people saying champions pvp is meh. but i totally find it fun! FUn! FUN!

pvp modes:

duel.... which anyone can request other players to duel anywhere

5 vs 5 team pvp arena

10 players royal rumble pvp arena

1on1 pvp arena

what i like about it is that it goes by FRAG-COUNT, team with most kill count wins! it feels like fps rule. say the kill count to win is 20.... team that score a kill to 20 first will win. it also feels a bit like guildwars but more fun! and better skills to look at!

what i hate about open-world or free for all pvp is that its a gank fest. no fun getting hit by 7 players out of no where and dead on the spot. but champions is a system-ruled pvp.... which decrease ganking.

5 vs 5  if you a melee build... find the oposing melee build too and fight them far from others. they will do the same. fun fun. its like no ganks at all! fun! fair and square.

also we last long in pvp. unlike guild wars where i charge at the enemies and 9sec dead. this last longer than 9sec even in 5 vs 5!

the only down side is that it takes a while to be in arena pvp  after u got in the querd where guildwars average is only 7sec and got in. also would love to see more than 5 arenas cause most the time i see is the cage arena.

i would love spinning most time on this game on its pvp than its quest-grind.

also each time you dead you jus keep on spawning till the team kill count to goal kill count.

I disagree... it seems pretty clunky to me.

Guild Wars has better PvP. The skills are prettier and more unique in Guild Wars, plus it runs a lot smoother and right now it's more balanced than Champions Online.

    .. that's my opinion anyway.

Sounds like a pretty good system, especially for those who enjoy arena combat made popular by WOW.

    I didn't.

Without the threat of a gank, its just not real PVP to me.  (and that's from a person who gets ganked more often than not)

I stick with more open world systems, keeps the PVE fresh.

    But to each their own.

yeah to each of its own.

i personally like mmo to have both open-pvp and system-managed-pvp aka arena pvp.

in open pvp its cool cause if someone piss you off, you can just punch them in the face on the spot and it is realisitc situation but i hate about open pvp is ganking.... or gang ups or 20x higher level than you attack you while you attacking mobs. regardless..... would love to have open pvp IF IT ALSO GIVE ARENA PVP.

arena pvp is we feel fair and square and feel good when winning cause of in same ground. each team have equal member and same range level. pvp arena is FUN!

i only want open pvp if it have arena pvp. if jus open pvp... then forget it. i dont want it.

overall im having a blast in champions pvp.

you know what would be awesome is if it have 100 vs 100 and call it nation vs nation. by kill-count. the first team gets to 500 kill-count first is the winner.

or let players have maximum of 40 spawn... after they spawn 40 times they will be out and spectate untill the result is out. no timer nor frag count. team that eliminated the oposing force to zero is the winner.

While I have found my PvP matches so far to be very fun in a frantic sort of way I do think itis one of the areas CO has the farthest to go on.  There needs to be some objectives other then "kill someone N times", more maps at every level range, and some more balancing.

But I really enjoy the basic mechanics of PvP combat and I like having to figure out what I'm up against rather then "oh a Warrior, he'll do X, and Y, and Z" so I'm not to concerned about how long it takes to get things sorted out.

PvP is not the strong suit of Champions. It just isnt, the PVE aspects of the game are done very well, but it seems like PvP was added as a aftterthought. HOnestly, I think Champions would be better received if they had NO PvP (aside from dueling) and just said so outright.

I couldn't make out if the guy was being serious or sarcastic...

In open beta there weren't many organized teams, but when there was, the other side didn't have much fun.

The trick to winning then and probably now, is to find the person without Invuln/Regen/or Force Shield and

    repeatedly kill them.

Ultimate I had a ton of fun in PvP myself. The bouts of WTF...overcame the fun though. It's fun to be stunlocked

    for 20+ seconds...

See, this is the main difference in our PVP preferences.

I prefer games where its just as important (if not more so) not to die while making sure your opponent does, hence I play games live EVE that punish you for failure, and makes death avoidence the highest priortiy.

You prefer games where its kill, kill kill, (and you are not alone, its the preferred game mechanic from my observation) all the time, with little to no consequence.

Neither is right or wrong, its just a preference.

But glad to see you found a good game that you enjoy, its so hard to do these days it seems, so when one comes along that's a keeper, best to support it 100%.

Good luck and I hope CO turns out to be a resounding long term success, the genre really needs a few big hits.

I don't like PvP in most games since it's always unbalanced.  But the CO arena is kinda fun it is good enjoyable bashing.  It would be nice if they had a playfield with more area and like corridors and rooms or an open area with buildings and stuff.  So you can do a little hiding and running around.  But I like that it is lightweight fun pvp as opposed to a gank fest that disrupts gameplay.

I don't like most open PvP because it is too abusable and generally has no repercusions for bad behavior.  There were a few that were pretty good but most are crap.

I would like to see other PVP stats come into play.

I always like to see who did the most healing for instance in warhammer fantasy RP mmo.

PVP is great, when its balanced. Im sorry OP but Champions ONline has some of the worst pvp i have seen due to over powered builds. Look, people will create the same builds just to be the best in pvp or overpowered in the game. That said, there are no perks to pvp either.

The end result, pvp in CO is completely dumb. Pointless even. I am more impressed with DC Universe which lets you be a villain or a hero...at least it makes sense to pvp.

Exactly, but i dont think this is broken, (S=on)sounds more to me like a refined bug-report (S=off). If they implemented a way where all builds could be even like the 20 level range then it would truly be a pvp's dream. Right now it is about the builds so level 40's do have an advantage over 20-35's becasue of the high level build options offer to them over lower level players.

It's the same in every game. And the PVP matches are set up in Tiers. Pretty much the same as in WAR.

And in WAR you had overpowered classes as well. Just like in WoW. Just pretty much like in any MMO that has PVP.

MMO's are about imbalance. That's the whole key to classes, builds, roles, whatever.

Otherwise you end up with no diversity at all anymore. Just different particles to give you the illusion it's a different class or build. How boring that would be!

Even in WAR, with the overpowered classes... the key was always TEAMWORK!  If a couple people bash into an OP class player, that OP class went down just as fast as anyone else.

But that's the problem! When it comes to PVP people keep having this narrow mindset that ALL classes need to be balanced 1 versus 1 !

That's just IMPOSSIBLE in a MMO game. Period! For the exact reason I already mentioned earlier.

    Cheers

As someone who took a 6 month sub and likes this game i can say its weakest point by a mile is the pvp.The pvp is lacking in a lot of ways and the current imbalance is shocking that it made it to live version.
