Seriously Guys this was a daytime crash and the patch worked wonders for me.  I was home sick for the day and it worked flawlessley there after.  I LOVE THIS GAME!  Played AOC at launch and  . . . I will not go there.  As for Launches it will have bugs as hundreds of thousands of people are playing now instead of the thousand or so in OB.  It scales perfectly and I have no worries about my machine ( Recomeded specs to a T), solo play seems abit tough past 10 so far but we will see.  So giving us a free day for half a day gone is respectable and generous.  This Game should keep my intrest for the long term if things continue the way they are.

This really should be SOP for MMO developers these days.  All these problems are due to a lack of testing.

People are upset because they expect better.  When will developers learn that you only get one chance at a first impression?  That impression can possibly make or break a game.

You should revisit your smoothest launch in MMO history thread with the hindsight of the last week.

On the official forums there is a thread about 800 posts long and has had around 35k views of people that cannot even get to the patcher never mind log in. I am one of these people, i tried yesterday and it was epic fail, then i reinstalled today and now it wont even get passed updating the launcher it just times out. The game works fine but when you cant even launch the thing you start to wonder how competent the guys making this actually are!

This happened during the OB too... it's just sad... and very telling.

You've GOT to be kidding me! The WoW patcher fiasco was worse when WoW was released and that was at LAUNCH. People couldn't play the game for days. Were people supposed to take that as a sign of a poor developer and avoid Blizzard because of it? What happened to the Nataxatu I knew from the Spellborn forums six months ago? That one had some sense.

On top of this they are closing all threads that ask for a better resolution for this.

I have a fix for this problem, just uninstall the game and never play again.  It sucks anyways.

I played in OB and my experience was surprisingly smooth and fun. But than they pushed the game to launch while simultaneosly making significant changes in skills/abilities, causing much angst on the first day. Now this. Hopefully they get their shit together and smooth things out this next week. If they don't they will have subscribers dropping like flies. People aren't going to go into a 3rd and 4th week of a broken game and keep a monthly subscription.

The MMO community has been yelling loud and clear at every major MMO launch that they want a game to be launched polished, not broken. As excited as the community gets over the hype of a game we make it clear we would rather have a game come out a couple of weeks late in stable condition than earlier and laden with problems. Our cries seem to be completely ignored. EVERY SINGLE TIME it seems the business end of these companies push the MMO's into launch whether the developers are ready or not.

Will these companies ever learn from the community, and realize if they launch MMO's smoother instead of sooner they will retain more of their initial subscription base?

Or will we finally learn from these companies, and realize that when it comes to our opinions they just don't give a shit?

Our spirit was here long before you

    Long before us

And long will it be after your pride brings you to your end
