I hope there is place to level up or peacefully but not to play in a place ganking restless day and night, In realistic world, nobody could live in a war zone.
I think PVP should be taken in conflict area and such conflict area may happend in unfixed area which means it causes by player's activity to make the area contested. Pirates of the Burning Sea have such device but it became ganker's heaven.
It is miserable If I am going out of city then I am going to get ready for ganking restless. That sucks.

I do agree with the constant threat of "ganking" not being enjoyable to the players experience. I am hoping that Aion will find a good community that actually play the game as intended and although the threat is always there of an "honest" attack from the other faction and environment, there are times in the non-abyss areas that you can actually accomplish leveling and adventure without peril. I think the story line, if followed will make this game unique and enjoyable.
If there will be ganking , it will where off in a while, like in wow ,

Sadly, just read an article on the highested ranked classes in PvP across all the Korean servers. Guess what Spiritmaster is at the bottom. And like 75% of the top 10 on each server is an Ass(assasin) Aion appears to be another stealth/gank rogue/assasin fest. Soo old. So if you do play Aion just roll a stealthy, like every other game that has PvP as an end game. Hersaint cries in his beer.
Please mate, nobody likes being called an Ass, please use "Sin" =P.
There are zones where are there are no rifts. You can level in peace there.
Let's not dramatise
One small nerf and sins are no longer powerful and people go with other classes... WoW is an example of how classes changed with each nerf and how different classes were the flavor of the month.
If people roll sins due to this they might be dissapointed before even hitting 50

Obviously the class that can go invisible and backstab will ALWAYS be at the top when it comes to ganking/farming AP. But that means nothing for how good you really are. It just means you have extra free time. Assassins are a crappy gimp class and always will be. I will still own 95% of the sin wannabees who only farm with just about any other class in pvp or dueling.
Let me throw this out there. AP ranking means very, VERY little. As you willingly throw it away to get fancy jewelry and armor. What matters is your K/D, and how much rape you can hand down in strategic PVP.
Also, the the toothfairy told me sins where getting nerfed soon.
PvP takes place in the Abysess, so you won't be ganked in other areas. And you have to be a certain level to even enter the Abysess. Hope this answers your concerns.
Rifting won't be too bad, but the Abyss is probably you will get attacked often by other faction.
After a while higher ranked people are going to be so afraid of doing much ganking since the loss is bigger the higher you climb should you die.
So maybe when people hit the Rifting zones and Abyss area there will be alot of ganking, but it drop to a managable rate once people get used to it. Only a certain way to use rift can actually repeated gank and that is big group, but no one to defend at all. Which by Aion's system design doesn't happen all that much or take quite a bit of time to actually organize one due to limitation of rifting.
If you step into the Abyss you SHOULD expect to be ganked, since that is one of the biggest reason for the zone. PvP, PvPvE siege, and RvR situations. If someone really hates PvP they will stay away from the Abyss, but then I wonder why they play Aion to begin with
