EU on NA

dubledubdubledub Member Posts: 229

Hi I've looked through the NCsoft support and I couldn't find anything on this so I wondered if you guys could help me.

I pre-ordered an EU copy of the game (live in the UK) so my beta account is EU. Is there a way I can play on NA servers? (my guild is going to play on 'Siel' because they are NA based so I won't be able to play with them). Is there a way of doing this or should I find a new guild? Thanks

I'm fairly certain you cant just play with your EU account on a NA server, tho there's tiny 1% i could be wrong.

You'd need to buy a copy of the game from the US, which will include a US key for an account, and hope that ncsoft doesn't get upset that your credit card info isn't US based.

This is how most people in the EU play on US servers, it's usually 'tolerated'.

Yeah that's what I figured- I won't be buying an NA copy of the game so I guess I'll have to find an EU based guild. That's a shame..

Oh and the other thing I meant to ask was , is there a disadvantage to playing on the NA servers from the UK? Like is it slower or something?

nope, everything i've heard, there's no lag issues caused by playing from the england neighborhood.

Most likely you will have higher Latency / Ping, because you are farther away from the servers.

In wow NA (I live in Denmark, Eu) I had between 200-500 on average on the Eu servers I had 40+ on average so it can really do a difference. Especially when it comes to PvP :)

As far as I know you are also more in chance of getting hit by lag spikes, the further you are away from the servers.
