More bad ideas from the masters of bad ideas

So, it turns out that simply screwing things up through bad design wasn't enough for Turbine. No, they had to screw things up through accident, oversight, apathy, and just plain mean-spiritedness.

The new monster AI is great! The mobs are smarter, now, making dungeons much harder. Unfortunately, they didn't stop there; they made them so smart that they can shoot through walls and around corners! And hirelings are now twice as dumb as they used to be. Together, this makes the "solo" option in a quest a bad joke, and the "normal" option is generally unbeatable without a real group. "Dungeon scaling" my pointy elven ears.

They've screwed up buffs, too, making several quests nearly unbeatable with any kind of group; here's the setup: You are getting ready to fight a dragon and a giant at the same time. The giant heals the dragon, and they both resurrect each other if the other dies, so you have to kill them at the same time. You are standing in front of a portal that will teleport you to their lair, where you will immediately start fighting so you buff up first, right? Wrong; the teleporter now strips all buffs (and songs, stances, etc), forcing you to engage in a boss-level fight with half of your advantage gone from the start.

I will give them something; at least they have given SOME kind of response to some issues; that the response itself was idiotic is a given, but when the Titan quest (source of one of the most sought after pieces of loot in the whole game) started having some (minor) issues, they decided to just close it down completely. I want to congratulate Turbine for taking the unprecedented step of actually addressing an issue; now if we could just get them to address it WELL.

Of course, they opened up a whole new area, right? Fantastic: another area designed to require group play, rather than make anything soloable, with a grand total of 5 new quests, none of which are at all interesting, nor do they have any decent loot. For that matter, the rings that were supposed to balance class abilities have done exactly the opposite: Rangers and sorcerers (collectively known as "what everyone who wants to kill things plays") are more powerful than ever, while monks (colloquially known as "gimps") get the shaft. Again.

It's not that the game is bad, as such, it is that every change, modification, module, "bug fix", or addition since the game came out has been a distinct negative.

I am gonna number each of your points in my response.

    1. The new Dungeos scaling has made going with less people much easier than in full groups and the devs have acknowledged that DS is not working properly for full groups. My brother and I Duoed everything up to Tangle Root last night and no one died. TR with DS was actually sad with only 2 people. There was less than half the usual mobs in some areas that used to be tougher fights. Now the whole thing was so easy you might as well talk to Ungarz once and get your reward. I hope they tweak it to make it a little harder again.

    2. I hope they fix these bugs soon. Yes they did some bad things with this patch that hopefully were not intended and get fixed soon.

    3. They have shut down quests in the past and every time it was because the quest was bugged and made too easy to complete. WHen quests have a bug making them harder or impossible they generally leave them alone. I know the Titan was closed but did not search to find out why since I hate that raid myself.

    4. The high level area is not supposed to be a solo area. Why are you bashing them for not adding more solo stuff? They just made most of the non raids soloable below level 16 anyway. People have waited nearly a year for more high level raids and tough quests. Not making it soloable was a great idea. I have seen some very interesting loot from these. The belts and rings have interesting things not to mention the new high end loot such as greater cursespewing and the like.

I do not think you are giving the game or the changes enough time to really understand.
