Indeed, it's the first time since a while that I really liked an mmo.
Same here.
I had some issues with my comodo firewall and gameguard, so I had to deinstall the firewall.. since then everything ran smoothly for hours without me encountering bugs. Loving it so far. It's time I got to play a real fantasy MMO again.
BTW, any tips on which firewall is decent and doesn't conflict with GG/Aion? Ty.
I'm having a blast.
what classes u lot playing an server at the mo?
im on Thor as an assasin , im guessing there will be a wipe before launch so i might just try out all the chars see which one stands out for me.
I've played a Chanter to 26 and a Sorcerer to 24 in the CB's. Trying a SM this time on... forget the server... starts with a T. I started out on Siel, but it was tooooo laggy.

Agree with the OP. For anyone not burned out on MMOs in general, Aion is a lot of fun. If you are burned out on MMOs, playing Aion will not make a difference.
They can adjust a game all day, but they can't help the issue between the keyboard and the chair.
Played: UO, DAoC, AC, WoW, EVE, TR, WAR, Aion, Rift, SWTOR, GW2, TSW, ESO, Elite:D
Play EVE for free for 21 days
I started a sin, gonna make a gladiator and sorcerer as well though.. even ranger sounds interesting to me. Ah the choice =/

Heh, I'm making an sm as well. Already played in cb so nothing real surpriing for me but I enjoyed the game before and am having a blast now.
They did seem to add quite a bit to the character cusomization table least in my opinion which was cool.
1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.
2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.
3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose.
Played a Gladiator in CB6. Was awesome! This time I am going to try out the Ranger and SM.
Long Ago - Dark Age of Camelot, Guild Wars
Now - Aion
Looking Forward To - SW: TOR, GW2, FF14
Will Never Touch Again - WoW
Smashed Hopes - Vanguard
I was getting around 60 FPS avg and peak was at 150 FPS, no rubber banding or skill lag.
the first two hours was pure hell though

I use Threatfire for my AV and just windows firewall.

Great game, most immersive game i have ever played. Aion is the next gen of MMOs and will played by many in years to come.
Aion v3 "RELOADED" - A glimpse into the future of the MMO genre
Glad all you guys like it so far. I think what Boardwalker said contains alot of truth.
Guess i'm one of those who are burned out by MMOs in general (at least those going with the common WoW-mechanics), so i wouldn't say "I love it" but rather "I'm really trying to"
I'm really enjoying it as well which surprises me considering there's nothing groundbreaking here, just a good, solid, conventional MMO with artwork and music that is good enough to make me want to play through it just to experience the content.
Once they work out the server/lag issues, they'll be set for a successful run with this game.
I'll have to see what the higher levels are like before I'll know if it'll last more than a few months for me, which is all I've been able to give any MMO since playing WoW for a year when it first launched.
Everything is cool...except the dozens of Lolitas running around >.<
The customised characters i have seen so far are certainly... "interesting"
+1 lol the first thing i saw upon entering the game world was a purple midget running around with gigantic knockers ..... go figure >< lol
Giant head, tiny stick man, super midgits, and giant brickwall is what I have seen so far.
People can get pretty extreme in character creations, but its only OBT anyways.
Yes, and I noticed alot of lolitas. 1.5 also messed with the character creation quite a bit, some sizes are pre-adjusted already.
Haha. I know what you mean XD
Trying to decide on what to make my main at release is my only problem right now.
As for the beta i'm just going to play the few classes I didn't try in open beta to help me make my decision
